III. Rationale

Failing is not a choice. Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics or STEM is

one of the strand on the academic track of BNHS SHS. It is only a matter of time before these
senior high school students graduate and move on to college where their academic journey is
about to be even more rigorous and where they can use their grades and accomplishments in
their previous years in order to study in the academic institution that they want to study in.
So how do help these students better understand their lessons, do better at their tests, and
consequently, raise their grades? In order for them to do better in their examinations, the
students should have a way to review their lessons.
During the span of one quarter a lot of lessons in one subject are discussed, add that to
the fact that there are multiple subjects that students have to take, it is easy to see where
issues could arise. Being able to review allows them to glimpse back to previous lessons and
remember key details that they may have forgotten due to the amount of information a
student needs to take in. In our own experience, we find difficulty to create a reviewer for
ourselves and review due to the amount of workload that we receive. Some sections and
teachers share their reviewer in order to help students. But this does not reach every students
and sometimes only reach their proponents right when the examinations are near.
Moreover, most of these reviewers are disseminated digitally that might have caused
other students to be left behind. We aim to create a systematic approach in order to bring
these reviewers ahead of time and widen its reach. Uplifting students by lightening their
workload, and ensuring quality education for all. The challenges that we may experience
includes, not enough participation from both students and teachers that may lead to no
reviewer being made at all. In response to this, we may ask these students and teachers for
reviewer ahead of time, or right after a lesson has been tackled in order to not get in the way
in the stressful times of examination periods.
As for the budget, we expect minimal cost because we only need to make a bulletin or
cork board and it only need minimal efforts to maintain. Additionally, we may also depend to
donation due to the little amount of cost this project needs.

IV. Objectives

This activity, Free Knowledge for STEM aims to:

1. Help students prepare for exams or assessments by providing reviewers

covered in their class.
2. Encourage STEM students to support and collaborate with one another by
reviewing and providing reviewers.
3. Motivate students to seek out and utilize resources effectively to support their
academic learning.

VI. Project Approach Summary

The "Free Knowledge for STEM" initiative aims to assist STEM students in their exam
preparations by providing easy access to study materials. The program will be implemented
through the school bulletin board, where the reviewers will be published. The project will also
provide a dedicated Facebook page that will give students access to the soft copies of the
reviewers. The reviewers will then be published according to the specific lesson's chapter to
make it easier for students to navigate and find the information they need.

VII. Resources Needed

a. Budgetary Requirements: It will be allocated for maintenance of the whole project.

For the collection of reviewers, it will be collected from two different sources:
G12 source - Taken from students who are in grade 12 STEM.
G11 source - Taken from students who are in grade 11 STEM.

After collecting the reviews, it will be briefly evaluated and sorted based on the subject
and topic. These reviews will then be published and distributed. The project will then be
supported through donations from students. The donations collected will be used to maintain
the published information on the bulletin board.

b. Human Resources:

Leader - Task distributor and manages the resources of the project with the help of the
members.
Technical Department - Facilitates what comes out of the page and provides the
softcopies.
Information Department - Divided into two parts:
1. Information Collector - Collects the donated reviewers from the students
who volunteered and assesses the information of the reviewer.
2. Information Disseminator - Responsible for maintaining the bulletin board.
