Post Lesson Reflection  Day and Night Lesson

1.  To what extent were lesson objectives achieved? (Utilize assessment data to justify
your level of achievement)

This was our first lesson, we planned to use the worksheet and a discussion on what they
learned to assess their lessons. I do believe that the objectives were achieved in this
lesson based off the fact of how well they completed the assignment. And how they could
ask questions as well as answer questions on what they saw and heard. I would like to say
that we did not get to do the full discussion of what they learned at the end due to poor
time management, but we made it up in the next lesson.

2.  What changes, omissions, or additions to the lesson would you make if you were to
teach again?

If we were to teach this lesson again, I would focus more on time management and not
allow so many students to share if I know we have a time limit but also give them enough
time to grasp the concept and be able to complete the assignment. This is because we
were supposed to have them draw three things and then write three facts and then write a
routine they have. But we ended up running short on time and had to make them write 2–
3-word phrases instead and some student did not even finish. Also, with the debriefing
after this lesson we ended up having to do it two days later and I know kids can be
forgetful so I would have rather done it same day or a day later.

3. What do you envision for the next lesson? (Continued practice, reteach content, etc.)

For the next lesson I envision us focusing better on time management so we can get
through the entire lesson without feeling rushed. As well as working on classroom
management as a lot of times kids would just shout out but some would raise their hands
and we would not correct it and just move on.

4. If you used co-teaching, would you use the same co-teaching strategy for this lesson if
you were to teach it again? Were there additional co-teaching strategies used during
the lesson not planned for initially? Please explain.

I really enjoyed teaching it as a co teaching team as it was our first lesson, so it was like a
practice run and helped myself feel more comfortable and prepare myself for what I need to do
when I teach my individual lesson. I think me and Mady really work well together regardless of
our different approaches and that we had came up with a plan to switch off for every step but we
ended up going with the flow of the class.
