Unit 15: Advertising Production

Learning Aim B

Primary Audience Research

Before I let people take this survey

because it is about mental health I gave
them a trigger warning before hand if
some of the questions might trigger them
this survey was made anonymous.

Majority of people who had taken my

survey said that they were female. 4/12 of
them were males. As we can see we have a
range of both males and females who had
taken this survey I had made for my
audience research.

Question two was do two was do you attend

secondary school, college/sixth form,
university or other. Everyone who had taken
the survey was in college or sixth form. This
survey is based on different teens of the same
age range and their feedback on their mental
health and mental health in general.

From this survey we will see how teens in

college/sixth form will be affected by mental
illness and the reasons on why they feel this
way. Using this information, I will be finding
ways on how this can be reduced.

Third question was ‘have you

experienced any sign of mental health
e.g stress, anxiety. 10/12 people said
they have experienced mental health.
This is over half the amount of people
that have taken the survey have
suffered from any type of mental health.
‘are you aware of the signs of mental
health’. 2/12 said they are not aware of
the signs of mental health. This could
mean they may be the 2/12 who have
said they haven’t experienced a sign of
menta health but might have and are
unaware about this.

‘if you are feeling under pressure how do you

deal with it’. Some answers were linked to
exercising, reading books, watching things,
talking to someone, ignore it or sleep. I think one
main issue is that most people turn to unhealthy
habits and a lot of people don’t talk to anyone
about it and they try to avoid there problems.

The question for this one was ‘what causes you to feel
this way?’, meaning the causes to feel pressured linking
to the question before. Some said, work pressure,
school work, stress, anxiety and more. From this I can
see that most people think work makes them feel more
under pressure possibly because of there environment
which would be college/sixth form.

‘How often do you use your phone’. Majority of people said
more than 5 and 7 hours. This is a big problem as it is a lot of
screen time on the phone. Using this information were going
to find ways to reduce this problem.

Next question was ‘do you use social media’. One person out
of the survey said they do not use social media. The rest use
social media which can be a big impact on why teens have
mental health problems.

I asked what apps do they use the most out of

snapchat, Instagram, tiktok, twitter and other. The
most common answer for this question was tiktok.
This is an app used for entertainment use
watching funny videos and more. It shows a lot of
people spend most their time on this along with

free time as teens. Some of the answers
were, exercise, watching something, listen to
music, spending time with family and friends
and listen to music. A few of these things
listed are unhealthy habits that may cause
them lack of motivation. Using all of these
answers I will be working on ways to reduce
these issues.
