Great people of the Renaissance

Christopher I was an explorer. In 1492 I sailed to


Columbus America. My voyage started regular
contact between America and Europe.

“You can never cross the ocean until you have


the courage to lose sight of the shore”.

Leonardo da I was interested in everything as a


great inventor, painter and scientist.

I made projects of the bicycle,
parachute and airplane- people
created them hundreds years later.

exciting time in English history. I
supported overseas voyages and won a

the World.

ideas for teachers
1) analyzing quotations:
Using quotations in class develop critical thinking skills. I ask my students to ana lyze quotations and
evaluate the validity behind.

2) analyzing pictures:
I ask my students to create a renaissance portrait according to the features from given examples.

3) discussion: How did described people from the renaissance influenced nowadays world?

4) sum-up activity: I play the word association game. One student starts with a name of the famous person
from Renaissance and throw a ball to a student who has to say a word that links to this person.
