Prelude “He Comes to Us as One Unknown” Phillip Morgan

Richard Pantcheff

Welcome and Lighting the Advent Candle

One: Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
All; The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
One: He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
All: all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.

(The first advent candle is lit)

One: We light this candle as a sign of your never-ending promise to us

that you will be us through all the ages.
All: Savior of the nations, quickly come!
One: Emmanuel, God-with-us, come soon,
bringing justice for all the people.
All: May this light shine in our hearts and in our lives
as a sign to all the people.

* Hymn No. 82 “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus” Congregation

HYFRYDOL

Opening Prayer (unison)

Holy One,
we acclaim we your greatness
and sing of your great mercy.
for this is no other like you.
Help us to make ready the world for the coming of Christ.
Prepare us for your coming reign of justice and peace.
Grant unto us the complete joy that comes with your salvation,
and give our weary spirits willingness to sustain us,
until we see your glory, glory of the one and only son.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
