 INTRODUCTION

Anaesthesia is the art or science of removing sensation of and reaction to a surgical procedure.
This complex branch of medical area follows the three triads of muscle relaxation, depth of
anaesthesia (DOA) and relaxation of pain i.e. analgesia. The fact that anaesthesia variables
interact and produce a complex system, leads to the need of a controller where these variables are
integrated. With the extra ordinary advancements made in the field of artificial intelligence and
with the respective set of advantages & disadvantages, fuzzy logic based controller is the best
choice as it has the ability to perform logical inference under uncertain conditions [2]. A Fuzzy
Logic Controller(FLC) which controls Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) which was taken as a
measure of the depth of anaesthesia. FLC stems from the theoretical work of Lotfi Zadeh. He
proposed the use of fuzzy logic to mimic the human's ability to use imprecise statements to solve
complex problems.

The BP and TEMP value are taken as an input using fuzzy logic. The output
values are produced using fuzzy techniques. Here BP level with TEMP is
discussed and also discussed about blood pressure during anaesthesia using
fuzzy logic controller. Patient's anaesthetist is a fully qualified specialist
doctor in anaesthesia, resuscitation and pain control, or a specialist in
training. He or she is responsible for patient's overall care during the time of
surgery
