AIMS: 1) to enable student to describe people referring to size, face, eyes, hair, clothes.
2) to enable students to use Present Tense Simple and Continuous
3) to enable students to identify persons from different descriptions

WARM-UP: Time: 5 minutes

Interaction: individually

T- shows the students a picture with a lady and a little girl and asks them questions:

What can you see in the picture ?

What can you tell me about the lady?

What can you tell me about the girl?

What is the lady wearing?

What is the girl wearing?

S-answer these questions.

ACTIVITY 1: Time: 15 minutes

Interaction: group work

T- writes on the blackboard the word “people” and circles it, then she draws five lines and writes down:
size, face, eyes, hair, clothes.

- Divides the class into five groups. Each group is given a category and has to write as many
words as they can

S– have to write down as many words as they know for the five categories, as fast as they can.

T – stops them and asks one student from each group to come to the blackboard and to write the
words.

S – go to the blackboard and write down the words from their lists.

T – checks the spelling of the words.

ACTIVITY 2: Time: 7 minutes

Interaction: individually

T- Look at exercise A on page 55. Match the words with the numbers on the drawings.

S-do this.

T-asks some students to come to the blackboard and to write the answers.

ACTIVITY 3 Time: 10 minutes

Interaction: pair work


T- look at exercise B on page 55. Five enemy agents thought they saw McCann. Agents V, X and
Y were right. Agents W and Z were wrong. Read the five texts and find McCann in the picture.

S-read the descriptions and then they find McCann in the picture

ACTIVITY 4 Time: 3 minutes

Interaction: individually

T- Now we’ll listen a dialogue between McCann and Q. You have to listen to them and then you
have to identify Dr. Ackermann in the picture

S-do this

ACTIVITY 5 Time: 10 minutes

Interaction: group work

T-divides the class into groups. Gives each group a person to describe.

T- look at exercise D on page 56. Each group has to describe someone in the picture. The other
groups have to guess who the person is.

S- do this

HOMEWORK: E on page 56. Someone in your class is a spy! Write a description of him/her.
