AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
The smart assistant robot converts motion commands into actual movements. We
live in a world where we are welcomed by technology, making our lives simpler and
more enjoyable. While we all profit from this new technology, certain groups of
individuals require more assistance and support than others: elderly people or people
with disabilities. For them, technology means a way to have a life that is almost natural.
There are some existing robots that provide assistance to the people but some
have a limited function. A home robot Kuri was designed to play with children, respond
to voice commands and patrol properties while filming videos and taking photos. This
robot features included face recognition, mapping sensors to prevent it bumping into
objects or falling down stairs and touch detection to allow it to respond to its owner in
cute ways, such as looking up and chirping if its head was tapped. Another one is
robotic vacuum cleaner; they can vacuum your flooring almost perfectly without your
assistance. These devices also have navigational sensors to prevents them from
dropping off the edges and bumping into obstructions. These are the example of
personal assistant robot that needs to develop and improve to provide a better way of
living and produce more accurate and high-quality work. The current study provides
more improved version of the existing system especially with the elderly and disable
person because for them technology means a way of having an almost normal life.
Machines have been helping us with our work for a while. In a series of technological
revolutions, humans moved from mostly working in fields, to factories, to offices. We

machines to take over tasks that were physically demanding, tediously dull or
downright dangerous. With each societal shift, the nature of work changed. Historically,
most of the machines we have built are very good at doing narrowly-defined,
predictable work. Now, however, we’re developing intelligent machines that can learn
and think a little like us. Sometimes, with the right training, they’re even better at
making decisions than we are.
The smart assistant robot is having value of the person with disabilities and senior
citizens to improve their independence and quality of their life. With the growing
population of elderly and disable person the help needed for the execution of daily
tasks normally increases, leading to a burden on the shoulders of informal caregivers.
Robotic assistants could be a way to help people remain healthy and safe in their own
homes, ensuring their independence in everyday life.
Smart assistant robots require a higher maintenance and installation costs the
reason why not all people can afford to purchase the product. But this study conducts a
research on how to minimize the cost for the sake of the majority.
However, the aim of this study is to determine the impact of using smart assistant
robot for the person with disabilities and senior citizens compare of normal materials
used like wheelchair and etc. This study also describes the advances in helping the
elderly people to keep up with the emerging Technologies.
III OBJECTIVES
To promote the importance of using smart assistant robot for the person with
disabilities and senior citizens.
To identify the advantages and disadvantages of using smart assistant robot for the
future improvement of the system.
To provide social and assistive services to elderly people and those with impaired
mobility.
To provide telepresence services primarily for the elderly and those with mobility
impairments.
