Grade 1 Third Quarter

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of 60 – minute lesson the learner should be able to:

a. Understand equations using subtraction


b. appreciate the importance of learning subtraction
c. Know how to subtract numbers on their own

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Our father in heaven…..

2. Greetings
Good afternoon class!
3. Energizer
Call a random volunteer from the class to lead an energizer.

4. Checking of Attendance
The students will be called alphabetically.

5. Setting of classroom standards


The teacher will assess if the students remember the classroom
standards agreed on the class.

6. Motivation
The teacher will ask random students some basic questions that will
give them a clue about the lesson that is going to be discussed.

B. Lesson Proper

1. Activity
The teacher will divide the class into five groups and give pictures
related to the topic. The class will be later asked what they have
understand on the pictures shown.
After the activity, the teacher will now show the video presentation
about subtraction using projector.
2. Abstraction
The teacher will be the one to facilitate the discussion of the learners
and use additional inputs.

3. Analysis
Along the discussion the teacher will ask the following questions:
 What is subtraction?
 Do we need to know subtraction?
 What is the importance of subtraction in our daily life?

4. Application
The teacher will give few practical situations demonstrating subtraction
and its importance.
IV. EVALUATION:
The teacher will give a short quiz. (5 items)

1. 10-5=5
2. 8-7=1
3. 5-3=2
4. 5-5=0
5. 10-7=3

V. AGREEMENT:

Students who will get scores of 4 and 5 will be given rewards by the
teacher.
