Scott Berkun once said, “Its not the fear of writing that blocks people, its the fear of not writing
well; something quite different.” Getting writers block is annoying to writers. Writer’s block is the state
of being not able to consider what to compose or how to continue with composing. In order to
understand writers, block I will be talking from my perspective on how I get help from my instructor to
overcome writers block, what causes my writer’s block and what do I do in order to overcome it, and
Whenever I get an essay or report to do, I do not do it and just wait for the last day,
because I always thought that I would get writer’s block. So, once the day of the assignment’s
due date comes, I start to stress and whenever I get stressed, I start writing nonsense and just turn
it in. Ever since that experience I started to ask my instructor for an explanation of the what my
report or essay would be about. Then I start slowly and just brain storm of what I’m going to talk
about. Then I get all of my ideas and write them down on paper or in my computer. I think that
ever since I asked for an explanation to my instructor and not wait to very last minuet I don’t get
writers block.
Oliver explains that students sometimes just try so much to do it right and follow the
rules to have a perfect paper that they forget of what their paper is about. I can totally relate to
this I do think that I get writers block from me trying to just do it perfect so that my instructor

could be impressed of my writing. I still do this sometimes that I even get mad at my self
because I should not be doing that. Oliver also states that when ever a student is writing a paper
he or she writes and revises at the same time and that they should not do that. I don’t do this but
I o know some people who do this and just saying they start to write nonsense.
I have many ways I overcome my writer’s block. First and for most I have to see a
template in order to know how my essay would look like. I may also ask questions to myself
about the essay to keep my brain from getting blocked. And the most important one is to be
encouraged so I put some music to get in the mood and to keep my brain and body awake.
Overcoming Writer’s may be hard and tough so do something in order to not get it. Ask
your instructor for help, stay away for trying to do your paper perfect and try to keep your mind
to stay open and not blocked. Remember that every writer gets writer’s block not just you and
me.
