lets dive deep into the  heart of that war. Besides being  the first state to succeed  from the union,

to know exactly why the South Carolinians responded to the Stamp Act, the Tea Acts, and the Sons of
Liberty

Data:

Students will be given a number as they walk into class. There will be a 1, a 2, or a 3. All the ones will sit

Procedures:

  Introduction (15 minutes):

I will start the class by explaining to them the lesson objectives for today. Each of the groups will be
given a designated area to which they are to report at the end of the instructions. There will be a note
taking session, a game station, and individual lesson comprehension station.

Teacher Directed (15 minutes):

I will go through a 7-slided PowerPoint on the South Carolinian Society came to be. Students will be
instructed to write down a minimum of ten facts to ponder over while the prepare for the individual exit
slip. After those 15 minutes are up, the students will rotate to the next section.

Collaborative (15 minutes):

All the twos will start with a game called “Histories Who Am I?” which will have

pictures of random historians who were made popular by their tenure during the settlement of South
Carolina. They will be paired up and there will be a competition with the assistant teacher watching over
this station. Whoever wins the game gets to bypass the exit slip at the end of class.

  Independent Digital (15 minutes):

All the threes will be seated at different tables with an iPad that contains random pictures and South
Carolina History celeb

bios whom of which they’d have to match with the

picture. This is to reinforce the game that was played in the Collaborative section.

Closure (15 minutes):

Closure will consist of students completing their exit slip which will be a paper of notes

they’ve been compiling all class period, so I’ll know if they have done real work all class period

or just played around. For students who have questions I’ll answer them at that time and to wrap up,
remind students to finish their homework

that’s due the next day and then dismiss them.

Rationale:(Multimedia 1= App or website):

This website, which is listed below, will give the students a chance to learn the rich history of their state
outside of the classroom. The SC website will reinforce the

information of which they’ve learned in class; and they could go and share this

information with their relatives. This will also help them prepare for the test.

For the audio learners, we have a video on the settlement of South Carolina This video will give them a
visual of how life was, pre and post settlement. They will hear some of the things that was incorporated
in the PowerPoint. The video will be played as a part of the PowerPoint and is linked below.
