various
countries
by
continent,
locating
information,
viewing
videos,
viewing
maps,
and
getting
back
to
the
main

show
students
how

navigate
the
website
for
each
country.

Visit
two
countries
this
day:
Ireland
and
Mexico.
Be
sure
to
show
students
how
to
find
information
specific
for
each
topic:
Nature,
Geography,
People
&
Culture,
Government
&
Economy,
Capital,
and
Official
Language.

will
have
a
sample
passport
page.

Fill
out

information
together
for
the
first
one.
Review
plagiarism
and
that
facts
should
be
put
into
your
own
words
and
not
copied
from
the
site.

and

countries
around
the
world.
He
has
given
each
of
you
a
free
passport
and
the
chance
to
visit
various
countries
around
the
world
to
help
him.

and

their

filling
out
their
passports
with
each
place
they
visit.
Students
who
finish
early
can
visit
more
than

places
and/or
help
others
who
are
struggling.
The
teacher
should
also
be
available
for
students
who
are
struggling.

groups,
students
will
discuss
ways
that
different
countries
are
like
the
United
States
and
ways
that
other
countries
are
different
from
the
United
States.

different
than
the
United
States.

Day 3:
(1) Go
to
https://maps.google.com/
Have
each
person
sign
into
their
personal
or
a
class
google
account.
(5
minutes)
(2) Together,
pin
Raleigh,
North
Carolina
(or
your
own
town)
and
write
one
fact
about
Raleigh.
This
will
help
students
practice
pinning
the
places
they
were
able
to
visit.
*Students
who
need
extra
support
can
just
post
the
name
of
the
place
on
their
map.
If
time
allows,
they
can
work
on
adding
one
fact
to
one
or
two
places.
(10
minutes)
(3) Students
will
then
pin
the
places
they
visited
by
using
their
passports.
Additionally,
each
student
should
write
at
least
one
fact
about
each
place
they
visited.
(30
minutes)
*Students
who
finish
early
can
pin
places
that
they
have
visited
in
the
past.
If
teacher
is
available
to
help,
show
them
how
to
post
pictures.
Additionally,
students
with
extra
time
could
go
back
and
include
more
information
about
each
country.
(4) Allow
a
few
students
to
share
their
google
maps.

Assessment:
Students will be formally assessed using the rubric below. Informal assessments can also
be noted in anecdotal format on a notepad as the teacher facilitates learning through each
days lesson. Using the passport, google map, anecdotal records, and the rubric, teacher
should have enough information to determine whether the student has mastered the
objective.

use a google map in the lesson from my experience creating a google map of my journey
in England through our study abroad experience.
