A. LEARNING SKILLS

Learning skills (the four C’s) – critical thinking,


creativity, collaboration, and communication.

The mental processes required to adapt and


improve upon a modern work environment.

1. CRITICAL THINKING
- is the practice of solving, among other
qualities (finding solutions to problems).
2. CREATIVITY
- is the practice of thinking outside the box.

3. COLLABORATION
- is the practice of working together to achieve a
common goal (working with others).
4. COMMUNICATION
- is the practice of conveying ideas quickly and
clearly (talking to others).

Literacy skills – sometimes called as (IMT


Skills), and they’re each concerned with a
different element in a digital comprehension.

1. INFORMATION LITERACY
- ability to recognize when information is
needed and to locate, evaluate, and
effectively use the needed information
(understanding facts, figures, statistics, and
data).

2. MEDIA LITERACY
- is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and create
media (understanding the methods and outlets in which
information is published).

- the ability to responsibly use appropriate
technology to communicate, solve problems, access
and evaluate information to improve learning in all
subjects (understanding the machines that make the
Information Age possible).
C. LIFE SKILLS

 Life skills is the final category. Includes


flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity,
and social skills.
 Also called FLIPS, these skills all pertain to
someone’s personal life, but they also bleed into
professional settings.

1. FLEXIBILTY
- is the expression of someone’s ability to adapt to
changing circumstances.
 Two uncomfortable ideas:
- Your way isn’t always the best way
- You have to know and admit when you’re wrong

2. LEADERSHIP
- is someone’s penchant for setting goals, walking a team
through the steps required, and achieving those goals
collaboratively.
3. INIATIVE
- true success also requires initiative, requiring students
to be self-starter.

4. PRODUCTIVITY
- along with initiative, 21st century skills require
students to learn about productivity. That’s a student’s
ability to complete work in an appropriate amount of
time.

- are crucial to the ongoing success of a
