PURPOSE
Vice grips—Locking pliers, one side of the handle includes a bolt that is used to adjust
the spacing of the jaws, the other side of the handle often includes a lever to push the
two sides of the handles apart to unlock the pliers
Channel Lock Pliers—Channel lock or slip joint pliers are adjustable pliers with a groove-
joint pliers. They have serrated jaws generally set 45 to 60 degrees from the handles
Side Cutters—Side cutters or diagonal pliers are pliers intended for the cutting of wire
Needle Nose Pliers—Cutting and holding pliers used to bend, re-position and snip wire
Pliers—a hand tool used to hold objects firmly. They are also useful for bending and
compressing a wide range of materials
SAFETY RULES
Always wear safety glasses and never put tools in your mouth for any reason
Do not expose pliers to excessive heat
Do not bend stiff wire with light pliers because they can easily be damaged
Do not use pliers as a hammer, or hammer on pliers to cut things
Do not extend the length of handles to gain greater leverage
Do not use pliers on nuts and bolts; use a wrench
Use only for intended purpose and read all provided warnings and instructions
Keep your work area clean and always wash your hands after using any tool
Always select the correct size and type of tool for the job to be done
