Subtraction is the opposite or inverse of addition.
Example:

The minuend in number 1 becomes the sum in
number 2.
The subtrahend and difference in number 1
becomes the addends in number 2.
Note that the sum in addition becomes the

Regrouping has to be done in order to subtract,
the ones digit borrows 1 ten from tens digit then it is
possible to subtract already.
