This new Mechanical System Performance path and metric
is explained through additions to Section 6 as well as a new
Appendix J that defines how software will be designed for
the simplified HVAC system analysis.

IES Addendum g to ANSI/ASHRAE/ICC/USGBC/
IES Standard 189.1-2020, Standard for the Design of
High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise
Residential Buildings
This addendum updates Table B-7 for efficiency of heat
rejection equipment. Equipment efficiencies currently
equal to 90.1 values are being raised by 5%. This adden-
dum also reflects that R507A has been eliminated from the
market and replaced with R-448A. Finally, a few correc-
tions to the published 2020 version of Table B-7 were iden-
tified and noted within this addendum.
