With reference to the discussions held with the The Principal Secretary, Govt.
of Punjab,Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab-
cum-Chairman, Board of Governors, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab
Technical University, Bathinda.Please find below the proposal to set up Chair
in association with University Business School in the Name of Bhagwan
Parshuram Ji in the University:-

Brief History

Lord Parashuram ji occupies an important place in mythology and religion. Lord

Parashurama is considered to be the sixth incarnation of Vishnu. Parshuram ji is
related to Treta Yuga. Parshuram ji was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and he
received a farsa (weapon in the form of an ax) as a boon from Shiva. That is why his
name is Parashuram. Shivaji also taught him fighting skills. He was the son of sage
Jamadagni and Renuka Devi. Maharshi Jamadagni belonged to Brahman varna
(Class) and Renukamata to Kshatriya class. Despite being born a Brahman,
Parshuram was a Kshatriya due to His virtues and actions. Therefore adopting the
code of conduct of Kshatriyas and Kshatradharma (Spiritual practice of fighting
evildoers) He destroyed evildoers. Bhagwan Parshuram is an excellent example of
samashti spiritual practice as per influence of time and of Kshatradharma spiritual
practice as per class.
He was a keen learner from the time he was young and he always obeyed his father,
sage Jamadagni. Parashuram ji was the first warrior Brahmin, that is why he is called
Brahmakshatriya. His mother Renuka Devi was a Kshatriya. As His gotra is
Bhargav, He is also called Bhargavram.Possessing Brahmatej like His father and
Kshatratej like His mother, Parshuram is indeed a warrior incarnation. Parshuram
challenged the unjust kings, who tried to wipe off eminent Brahmans by destroying
their ashrams and the great tradition of Gurukul, by using both forms of tej
(Radiance). He wiped out unrighteousness by using Brahmatej bearing Vedic
knowledge and Kshatratej bearing weapons. By cursing evildoers or attacking them
with weapons, He punished them. In this way based on the need of the hour
Parshuram performed the duties of a warrior.

Preachings:-

Bhagwan Parshuram is an excellent example of a great warrior who made brilliant

use of Brahmatej and Kshatratej. He was a Vedic scholar with a bow and arrows
loaded on the back, Parshuram annihilates the enemy with a curse or an arrow. Lord
Parashuram is revered not only of Vipra Samaj but of the entire society. He did not
bind the caste to the destruction of the wicked. He took up scriptures for humanity.
He was a knower of weapons and scriptures. He obtained the divine Parashu from
Lord Shiva by doing rigorous penance. He was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In
Tretayuga, giving his bow to Lord Rama, Kashyap himself went to the Mahendra
mountain by donating the entire earth to the sage. In today's era, the teachings and
actions of Lord Parashuram are paving the way for humanity.

of Bhagwan Parshuram in the contemporary period coupled with cultural
aspects
