MARBLE FINE
DESCRIPTION TECHNICAL & ENGINEERING INFORMATION

Marble Fine is an acid-soluble product (calcium carbon- Marble Fine is a blend of sized Calcium Carbonate

grades and used as a bridging and plugging material for
curing seepage and lost circulation. It is particularly

suitable as a non-damaging product for use in production
zones because it is acid soluble.

Carb Fine, which gives improved PSD stability.
Specific Gravity 2.6 to 2.8 The particle size for Marble Fine generally ranges from 5
to 400 microns, with D10 ~5 microns, D50 ~120 microns
Flash Point Not flammable and D90 ~400 microns. The typical particle size distribu-
tion (PSD) for Marble Fine is shown below:

APPLICATION

Formation losses are usually cured by treating the entire

circulating system with LCM, or by preparing and pump-
ing high-concentration LCM pills that are formulated
using a selection of graded LCM materials that may
include Marble Fine. PACKAGING AND STORAGE

Marble treatments can be made to the circulating system

through the hopper, or in the form of concentrated LCM Marble Fine is supplied in 25 kg multi-ply paper sacks
pills. Marble Fine treatments to the circulating system are and should be stored in a dry location.
typically 5 to 10 ppb, but higher concentrations may be
required when preparing LCM pills.
LCM concentrations should be formulated according to HSE
the severity of losses and the pore throat size of the
formation being drilled. Regular maintenance treatments Marble Fine is not classified as hazardous, but dust
