Dear [Recipient],

I have been endealved into the teaching world as I progress through my educational
program at ASU Mary Lou Fulton Teachers college and could not be more excited to begin my
own path. I have learned several best teaching practices that have helped me become the best
educator that I can be post-graduation. As I have gone above and beyond to be successful within
my program, it is my hope that I am able to further this motivation within one of your
classrooms.
With my fresh knowledge on what it means to teach in the 21st century, I feel as if I am
able to bring new and innovative ways of educating today's kids that engages and intrigues them.
The experience that I carry with technology can be best incorporated with the skills that students
will need in order to be college and career ready by the time they reach graduation. On the other
hand, there is much to gain from the experiences that occur off the screen and I believe that it is
crucial that we find a balance between screen time and real-world, hands-on experiences and
applications.
Aside from my ability to incorporate multiple modes of learning, I am also able to
cultivate an environment that welcomes all types of thinking, backgrounds, and friendships. In
my eyes, there is no meaningful content without the capacity to build a solid foundation for
community. It is crucial that we continue to be inclusive and diverse in how we present the
content. We never know what a student may bring to the table unless we allow them the
opportunity to share their own, unique ideas and experiences in order to establish a strong
learning environment.
It is for these reasons that I hope you will consider me as a candidate for a teaching
position within one of your mathematics classrooms. I look forward to hearing from you and to,
hopefully, embarking on a new journey together, where we can help make math the subject that
students are excited for.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Emily E. Pompa
