After the routine inspection, I have found out some issues with the tools and equipment in our
workshop. There were no plugs in the toolbox. Some ballpeen hammers were missing. We need to
purchase more plugs and hammers for our coming project. Since they have been frequently used,
some scissors wore out. We really need to replace them with new ones in the warehouse. In
addition, there was a crack on the workbench surface. The top of the workbench should be
replaced. Yesterday we received the screwdrivers but they were of the wrong type. I have already
called and asked the supplier to exchange them. The knife became rusty. It was probably because
of its exposure to the rain for two weeks. I suppose we need to order a new one from our supplier.
Follow up activity:
- Work in pairs.
- Use the information above to make a conversation.
Student A: You are an apprentice. You have inspected the workshop tools and equipment. There are
some problems with these items. Tell your supervisor about the problems.
Student B: You are a supervisor. An apprentice is reporting to you some problems with the workshop
items. Ask him/her about the problems and give solutions.
Activity 3 B: Free talk
- Imagine that you’re an apprentice in the workshop.
