I. OBJECTIVES
1.1 Content Standard
 Key concepts of functions
 The learner demonstrates understanding and appreciation of key
concepts and principles of mathematics as applied, using appropriate
technology, in problem solving, communicating, reasoning, making
connections, representations and decisions in real life.

1.2 Performance Standard


 Accurately construct mathematical models to represent real-life situations
using functions
 At the end of the course, the students must know how to solve problems
involving rational, exponential and logarithmic functions; to solve
business-related problem and to apply logic to real-life situations.

1.3 Learning Competency


 Represents real-life situations using functions, including piece-wise
functions.
 Performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and composition of
functions
 Solve problems involving functions
 Evaluate a function using function notation using function notation
 Interpret the meaning of x and f(x) from ordered pairs of an equation.
 Identify and write functions related to formulas
