Aim of the courses

• To explore the wider position some


organizations to appreciate the complexities of
operating in a global environment with greater
breadth and depth to an organization's current or
aspirational global presence.
• To have developed an understanding of the
wider global environment in which organisations
operate in order to to add value to an
organization with ability to apply knowledge on
global matters
Learning outcomes

By the end of this unit a student will be able to:


LO1 Analyze the key factors which drive
globalization.
LO2 Determine the strategic complexities associated
with operating in a global environment.
LO3 Evaluate how operating in a global market
influences an organization's structure, culture
and functions.
LO4 Evaluate the influence of globalization on
organizational decision-making and strategy.
Structure of the course

This course will be delivered in 40 slots (60


hours of study) consisting of:
– 22 slots for 12 theoretical lectures
– 18 slots for tutorial sessions

Assignments
To complete this course successfully, the students have to
complete 2 individual assignments:
 Assignment 1: Drivers and challenges for globalization
This assignment satisfies the following learning outcomes:
LO1 Analyze the key factors which drive globalization.

operating in a global environment.
 Assignment 2: Impact and strategic direction
This assignment satisfies the following learning outcomes:
LO3 Evaluate how operating in a global market influences an
organization's structure, culture and functions.
LO4 Evaluate the influence of globalization on organizational
decision-making and strategy
