Character Characteristics
In the Paper bag Princess, Elizabeth
didn’t have to wear fancy clothes, or wait
for the prince to save her to be a
princess. Princess Elizabeth had many
good characteristics even when she had
no material possessions and was wearing
a paper bag instead of clothes. Think of
some traits that Elizabeth had and write
them randomly around the paper bag.
I’m So...
The dragon in the story claimed that he
could burn up to ten forests with his fiery
breath. He also claimed to be able to fly
around the world in just ten seconds. Be
creative and think of your own brags to
write. They don’t have to be realistic.
Make Your Own Film strip
Pretend that you were there to
witness the Paper bag Princess story
actually happen, and even took
pictures! Decide what the most
important events were that
happened, and draw them in order
on your film strip. Write a
description underneath about each
one of the pictures. Be creative!
“Wanted!”
Make a “Wanted” Poster for one of
the characters in this book. Write a
paragraph describing this character’s
wicked deeds, or bad characteristics.
Draw a picture of the “Villain.”
 common with Elizabeth or that make you
a good Princess or prince.

Letter to the Author

Write a letter to the author telling
him why you liked the book. Include
a picture of your favorite scene.

Be Your Own Paper Bag Princess

or Prince!
1-Fold Kraft paper in half so that sides
are open. This will be the top where your
head and arms will go.
2- Trace the example and cut out along
the lines you have drawn. Make sure the
folded part of your paper is lined up with
the folded part of the example.
3-Decorate, and cut out your crown.
4- Take two pieces of string out, and tape
it to each dot you see on the side of the
crown. Have a friend, or me help tie it
around your head.
5- Put on your paper bag clothes. You
are now a paper bag princess or prince!
