Classroom Goals
§ Always do your best and think positive
§ Develop social skills, motor skills, and responsibility
§ To recognize the components of a calendar with days, weeks, and months
§ To write first and last name
§ To recognize and write all letters of the alphabet- upper and lowercase
§ Identify how to sort, organize, and classify objects
§ To recognize numbers 0 through 30
§ Basic single-digit addition and subtraction
§ Know the correct sound that each letter makes
§ To recognize sight words
§ To recognize common shapes
§ To recognize basic colors § The four seasons/weather
§ Basic time sense
§ Know how to handle a book properly. Where the title is, author, illustrator, spine, etc.
Classroom Rules
§ Follow directions
§ Raise your hand when you want to speak
§ Raise your hand when you want to get out of your seat
§ Keeps hands and feet to yourself. Refrain from touching your classmates § No bullying
Consequences for Classroom Rule Violations
§ Hold class meetings to discuss violations, issues, and possible solutions
§ Give non-verbal and verbal reminders effectively
§ Give warning
§ Track progress
§ Allow students to use self-assessment behavior strategies
§ Communicate with parents and guardians
§ At the end of the day teacher and student will meet to talk about their actions that violated
the classroom rules, how they can improve, and if it happens again what other
consequences with be implemented
§ Uncontrollable violations and inappropriate behavior will receive a note home and phone
conference with parent(s) or guardian(s)
Classroom Procedures
§ Enter room and go to seat
§ Unpack belongings and places any notes in the note bin and place homework in the
homework bin
§ Place red folder (homework folder) in chair pouch
§ Place lunch in crates
§ Hang up bookbags and coats
§ Begin morning work quietly (placed on desks before students arrive)
§ When completed raise your hand for assignments to be checked and put away
§ Find a book to read, complete other assignments not completed, or draw until further
instructions are given
Lateness
§ On time- before the first bell rings
§ Late- when the bell rings or after
§ Students must have a late pass
§ An email from a parent/guardian is preferred if they will know their child will be late
§ Lateness’s will be recorded and if it becomes a reoccurring problem, parents or guardian
will be contacting regarding reasonings
§ If student comes in during prayer, they will go right to their seat, stand, and wait until
prayer is over to start unpacking

Assignments
§ Students will be introduced to morning work and be implemented into their routine;
therefore, they will know what to expect and do every morning coming to class
§ Students will be responsible for completing class work and if not completed, it will have
to be done at home
§ Students will have a save it folder and a red folder (homework folder)
§ Teacher will remind and inform students of any given homework to be on track
§ There will be an assigned date for all assignments students will have to complete it by
Turning in Assignments
§ There will be designated bins that are different colored for homework, notes, and library
books
§ During instructional time, when students are completed independent work, they must
raise their hands when they are completed to receive a stamp
