Objectives of the Course:

The objectives of this course are;

 To define and explain the concept of cross-cultural communication.


 Explain how people of different cultures can communicate and understand
themselves by building cross-cultural bridges.
 Discuss how to present the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in a cross-cultural
setting.
 Present the different barriers/challenges to cross-cultural communication and
strategies to overcome them.
 Analyze crucial considerations in communicating the gospel.

Purpose of the Course:

The purpose of this course is to equip student-missionaries to be able to


effectively communicate the gospel in a cross-cultural setting and to empower them
to train others for cross-cultural missions.

Key Concepts:

Some key concepts in this course include: Culture, Communication, Cross-


cultural communication, conflict in communication, act of communication, model
of communication, interpreting and translating a message, cross-cultural bridges,
language, multicultural competence, understanding cultural diversity, act of

listening, ministry and the cross-cultural missionary, the missionary and barriers,
spirituality of the messengers and the profile of the converts.

Conclusion:

Indeed, this course on; Cross-Cultural Communication by Dr. Dominic Enya


Nsan was found to be more interesting and soul transforming. The understanding
drawn from this course will greatly help in the harvest especially when
communicating the gospel in a cross-cultural setting. This will equally go a long way
to help in the process of raising and empowering others for cross-cultural missions.
