Concept The present perfect is used
to describe actions that
took place in the past but
are still relevant today.
That is why it is often said
that, in reality, it is a
combination of past and
present.
The structure of the present
perfect in English is:
SUBJECT+ have/has
+ PARTICIPLE OF
THE VERB
I HAVE TALKED TO PETER.
SHE HAS GONE TO WORK.
WE HAVE BEEN TO LONDON.
THEY HAVE LEARNED ENGLISH.

importance
The important thing to remember about
the present perfect is that you cannot use
it when you are specifying when it
happened. ... You can use the present
perfect to talk about the duration of
something that started in the past and is
still happening.
