In the article,“The solo star evolves teen pop — into the 1970s”, by Lindsay Zoladz,
found in “The New York Times” Harry Styles, a British singer songwriter, has defied the norm
in the music industry and gained massive amounts of fame and popularity. After leaving the band
One Direction and pursuing a solo career Styles has become the poster child of pop music for
teens, and the way he’s doing it has never been seen before. Focusing on one of Styles more
popular songs, Lunsay Zoladz points out the 70’s esk feel of the song ‘Adore You’. “It’s the one
in which past and present coalesce most seamlessly”, said Zoladz. Styles' popularity allows him
to be risky in his music, which so far has paid off. Along with his hit music, Harry Styles also
has a flair to his fashion. Harry Styles has brought back a feel of music from just over 5 decades
ago, and managed to interest people of all ages; allowing him to become the public icon he is
today.
