Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Existing Online Creation Tools, Platforms
& Applications!

The global surge of internet usage among companies and individuals has
influenced the way we live. This has led to the widespread adoption of different online
tools, platforms and the rise of different applications on the world wide web. This
also provides the opportunity to streamline different operations, increase efficiency,
and reduce costs in providing different services.

What’s In

In connection with your past experiences about the development of different


ICT Content, the succeeding lesson of this module will require you to apply your
knowledge about the principles of layout, graphic, and visual messages design.

What’s New

Technology has made our lives far easier. It mobilized the stream of
information worldwide using different online creation tools, platforms and
applications as companies shift from traditional mode to cloud-based and grid
models. Today, we will examine how this online technology will help you to
successfully achieve the relevant competencies that you will encounter throughout
this module. But first, let us understand what online creation tools, platforms, and
applications are.

Online Creation Tools Online Platforms Online Applications

Online creation tools are online resources which can be accessed on the web
browser. This tool is the product of digitalization of traditional operation to help
business, researchers and individuals on performing and completing tasks in the
easiest way. Google Forms and Survey Monkey are few examples of these tools that
can be use in your research project. Next are online platform, the term has been used
to describe a range of services available on the internet. An Online Platform is
defined as digital service that facilitates interactions between two or more distinct
but interdependent sets of users who interact through the services via the internet.
Facebook, Lazada and DepEd Commons are common examples of these platforms
that provides certain services online. Lastly, we have online applications. Online
Applications or may also be referred to as Web Applications are online
programs that can carry out and process some kind of task without needing to be
downloaded. Unlike computer-based software programs that are stored locally on the
Operating System (OS) of the device, online applications are using client-server
modeled structure that is hosted by a third-party off-site server. Examples of widely
used online applications are Sibelius, Prezi and Google Docs.

What is It

There is no doubt that technology has a massive impact on the different


industries, sectors and businesses across multiple channels. As we examine and
understand the differences between online creation tools, platforms and
applications, we will find out which of them can help you in your chosen track as
they provide various services that can process and manipulate data.

Online Creation Tools, as we define it earlier, are online resources that can
make our tasks easier. In addition, these tools are being used for collaborations on
projects and documents, organizing meetings, and presenting ideas to communicate
with others that can help you to make a quicker and a better-informed decisions.
Some of these tools are listed below.

Google Forms
Google Forms is a tool for creating online survey forms and
consider as one of the easiest ways to collect data online without
much of a hassle.

Google Meet Google Meet is a video conferencing app that allows the users to
create, joined virtual meetings, speak or share video with each
other from anywhere with the internet access. This tool can also
be used in conducting online classes.

Google Drive Google Drive is one of the most versatile cloud storage service that
allows the user upload files online and access them anywhere.
This tool eliminated the use of storage drivers such as flash drive,
memory card and other similar equipment.

Wix Wix is an online website builder that gives the users drag-and-
drop interface when it comes to designing and publishing your
portfolio, small business website, blog, and other online services.

Mindmeister Mindmeister is a web-based mind mapping software that allows


the user to visualize, share and present their thoughts in a
schematic diagram. It is mostly use in Athletic matchups and
league standings.

Online Platforms, as we have just described, are digital services where it
facilitates virtual interface between the companies and consumer. This platform can
be classified as:

Social media platforms are a user generated content that facilitate the creation
and sharing of information, ideas, career interest and other forms of
expression in a virtual community.

Educational Platforms facilitate an engaging online learning experience


through video, images, text, audio, and PDF Files. This allows the user to take
notes, perform exercises, and complete exams to test their knowledge. This
platform also serves as distance learning solution during school closure.

Search Engine Platforms are websites that allow the users to search and
retrieve resources containing the terms they are looking for.

Marketplace platforms sometimes called as electronic marketplace is a form of


e-commerce that outsource potential buyers and sellers where product or
service information is provided, and all transaction is being processed online.

Media Platforms this varies based on what type of media does the platform is
using to entertain their users this includes audios, videos, pictures, animation
and other types of media.

Some of these commonly used platforms are listed below.

YouTube YouTube is a free video sharing platform that allows the user to
upload and view videos with a wide variety of content such as
video tutorials, product reviews and video blogging.

Facebook Facebook is a social media platform that makes it easy for a user
to connect and share with their friend and family through
messages and post status updates to keep in touch with them.

DepEd Commons DepEd Common is an online platform for public school teachers
to support distance learning modalities to continue the delivery
of basic education.

Online Applications, as we just defined it, are computer program that utilizes
web browsers and web technologies to process data and perform tasks over the
internet. This web application eliminates any compatibility issues, reduces software
piracy and lessen space limitation on your desktop computer since it is an online
based application. Below are some of this widely used applications.

Google Photos Google Photos is an online photo album that allows the users to
upload photos, view, edit, save and create videos, animation,
collages, albums and photo book in an artistic way.

Sibelius Sibelius is a score writer program that gives user the ability to
create, edit, print music scores and play the music back using
sampled or synthesized sounds. It also helps drive the composing
process while ensuring your score is accurate legible, and
beautiful.

Prezi is an online presentation tool that uses motion, zoom, and
spatial relationships to bring your ideas to life and make your
presentation a bit more eye-catching and engaging.

that are designed to create and share interactive reports,
presentations, and more through a rolling narrative, rather than
individual slides.

Microsoft To Do is a cloud-based task management application
that helps user to manage and organized their tasks, take notes,
record collections, plan an event, or set reminders to increase
your productivity and focus on what matters to you.

9. Shoppee Shoppee is the leading e-commerce online shopping platform


in Southeast Asia and Taiwan that provides an easy, secure
and fast online shopping

10. Zoom Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service that you can
use with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio
conferencing, chat, and webinars that lets you record those
sessions to view later.
