Having children is not only the decision and will of men, but also women who become their
partners. Article 28 paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution, states: "Every child is entitled to
survival, growth and development and is entitled to protection from violence and discrimination.
For women who do feel they have not or are unable to give their rights to their partners in this
case women have the right to make their decisions. Women who don`t want to have children
have actually appeared in a number of western states for a long time. In the 1970s 1 in 10 U.S.
women ended their fertile years without getting pregnant though and in 2010 the number doubled
to 1 in 5 women who didn't want to have children Women who chose not to have children she
focused more on her career and ideals but the main reason was more on life choices and health
issues and here the role of a partner in supporting it is indispensable. It can be seen from
economic and social factors that are the reason for a person to choose childfree. Some people
will not be able to meet their child's living expenses later. Others feel that the child will only be a
burden that hinders their success. Some people claim to not like children. Some even had
traumatic experiences in childhood that she worried she would not be able to become a good
parent. If you look at the various reasons put forward, what plays the most role in shaping the
concept of childfree they choose, the reason is evidence that they don`t get an ideal picture of a
family, certainly this starts from parenting in the family itself and the environment of the
community in which they live. It was there that the first time these religious and cultural values
were introduced because, from these various reasons it can also be said that those who choose to
live without children feel unprepared to become parents. So they are not ready for the risks that
will arise in the future. People who choose not to have children for their own reasons either for
reasons of physical unpreparedness in bearing biological burdens, mental or emotional
unpreparedness or even simply unwilling, it is all the right of the woman herself. Having
children doesn`t guarantee happiness until old age, there are some cases that parents who have
many children but in old age she alone no one accompanies, some of the reasons are children
who are pursuing a career and busy working. Women who have children must also have a great
responsibility in educating their children. Some women are not ready to have that responsibility
who end up choosing not to have children and we live in a country that is overpopulation, many
problems in indonesia one of the contributing factors is too much population. The presence of
women who don`t want to have children at least slightly helps suppress the rate of population
growth and many also encounter many of them who don`t want to have children but become
foster parents to abandoned children. Some women who don`t choose to have children are also
often encountered even their quality lives, the woman has their own standards and plans, if not
ready better not to have children, the danger is when a woman chooses to have children but
cannot provide children's rights, such as education, finance, clothing needs, food and boards. The
partner of the woman must also support the will of the woman of course with discussion. The
decision not to have children is more like a continuum. Women delay or don`t want to become
mothers because of work, education or because of a partner, they live a lifestyle that they enjoy.
