Learners'’ Development Matrix

Record the data you gathered about the learners’ characteristics and needs in this matrix. This will allow
you to compare the characteristics and needs of learners at different levels. The items under each
domain are by no means exhaustive. These are just sample indicators. You may add other aspects which
you may have observed.

Write the most salient developmental characteristics of the learners you observed. Based on these
characteristics, think of implications for the teacher.

1. While you were observing the learners, did you recall your own experiences when you were
their age? What similarities or differences do you have with the learners you observed?

I used to be content with playing and having fun with my classmates when I was in
preschool and primary school, just like today's kids who still like games and focus on more
enjoyable activities. The difference is that time and technology are rapidly changing because we
all kno that we are now in 21st century where in technology is the most used now, and today's
children are more focused on technology, which has had a significant impact on their passions
and hobbies.

2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative reasons. How did she/he help or
not help you with your needs (physical, emotional, social, and cognitive)? How did it affect you?

I remember my teacher in grade 3 on Bicol. She is a strict and feared by students

because the way she approach their students is wrong, for my own opinion. Because the way
she teach us and make mistake or just not answered her correctly she easily punished us by
pinching our ear and some other parts of our body nd other punishment. It affects me on that
time that everytime that I have new teacher Im always scared and my interest to attend class is
not there. So in my view the way she approach her learners is not good because I realized now,
she feared the learners that caused the learners is not want to attend her class anymore and the
excitement and enjoyment in learning is not there anymore. I remember my teacher in grade 3

I've discovered that what children see in individuals older than them has a big impact on
them. As a future educator, it is important that you set a good example for learners to model. It
is also important to consider more effective methods for ensuring knowledge transmission to
children. Because each student is different in terms of how they should be when being taught,
the teaching-learning process should be suited to each individual student you were teaching.
This ensures that no one is left behind.
