THE TRIAL

EXT. FOOTBALL PITCH - MORNING

Camera pans up to show LUCAS walking onto the training

pitch. He is wearing tracksuit bottoms and a training
top.
Close up of Lucas’ face as he takes a deep breath in and
out.
Transitions to Lucas running with the ball. He takes on
DEFENDER 1 and gets past him, then DEFENDER 2 slide
tackles him and camera quickly pans to the counterattack.
Cuts back to Lucas on the floor as he smacks the floor
and gets back up.
Camera then cuts to Lucas dribbling with the ball again,
he gets fouled outside the box.

COACH DAVE
Blows whistle
Free Kick!

LUCAS

Steps up for the free kick takes some deep breaths and
runs up to the ball. He hits the ball up and high over
the crossbar. Lucas drops to the floor as he realises, he
has messed up his chance at being signed.

Lucas stands up and walks over to COACH DAVE

COACH DAVE
I’m sorry but we won't be taking you on in our football
club.
LUCAS
Lucas looks at the ground
That’s ok, thank you for the chance.
He walks away.

EXT. PATHWAY – AFTERNOON

Lucas walks down the path with headphones on wearing the

same black tracksuit bottoms but with a black hoodie as
well.
Camera pans down

EXT. PARK – MORNING

Camera pans up to see Lucas sprinting and camera keeps
cutting to different training exercises.

INT. GYM – AFTERNOON

Lucas is doing bench-press and camera is mounted above
him looking down. The camera then cuts to him doing
lunges with a dumbbell.

EXT. FOOTBALL STADIUM – EVENING

Camera pans to the left as the players line up to shake
hands.

COMMENTATOR
Good evening, everybody. So where do you start with this
one then tonight? Real Madrid vs Paris Saint Germain in
the Champions league final.

Camera continues to pan as you see Lucas

COMMENTATOR
There you can see Lucas the youngster from England
starting his first ever Champions league game, and what a
game to do it in. Lucas had a trial at Chelsea 1 year ago
but was rejected! Now he’s playing on the biggest
footballing stage in the world!

Players stand at centre spot and begin the game. PSG

players pass the ball backwards and kick the ball up the
pitch.

COMMENTATOR

And we’re underway, PSG start with the ball and pass it
back to Hakimi. He plays a long ball to Neymar who
crosses the ball to Lucas but its too powerful and goes
out for a throw in.

Transitions to 37th minute Lucas is on the attack and

dribbling towards the defence. The camera is following
the ball as the defender put in a sliding challenge and
kicks the ball away.

COMMENTATOR
Lucas gathers the ball dribbles towards goal he takes on
one... He goes to shoot! But ooh what a sliding challenge
from Militao there.
The referee blows his whistle for half time.
And that’s half time both teams have played very well so
far but the score remains 0-0

Cuts to the 73rd minute. Lucas is dribbling down the wing

and crosses the ball into the middle towards HARRY KANE.
Harry Kane heads it into the back of the net. Crowd
erupts into cheers. Harry Kane runs and knee slides and
lucas comes and joins him.

COMMENTATOR
Lucas running down the wing, he plays a ball into the box
trying to find the head of Harry Kaneeeeeee! What a goal
Spurs are leading 1-0 in the champions league final!!
Spurs just need to hold this lead for the remaining 10
minutes of the game.

Camera cuts to 91st minute Lucas has the ball 30yrds out
and has a shot and it flies into the top corner!

COMMENTATOR
LUCASSSSSSSS what a goal Spurs have won the Champions
League for the first time in their history!!

Lucas knee slides infront of the crowd. And the final

whistle blows.
