Sun: The most important energy source for plants and animals

The energy content of all food molecules can be traced back to the sun. Plants produce food by
photosynthesis, and plant chlorophyll takes in solar energy and converts carbon dioxide and water into
glucose and oxygen. This equation shows the reaction during photosynthesis. This equation shows that
glucose is produced by the supply of solar energy. This is an important form of potential chemical
energy. Plants convert glucose into starch and important nutrients such as proteins and lipids. The sun
as the most important energy source for plants. The energy-rich glucose that is supplied to our body as it
enters the cells of the human body from plant products is broken down into carbon dioxide and water,
releasing the energy that the body can use. The energy produced by these processes helps keep the
body warm and balances growth and movement. Since plants and animals are autotrophs and
heterotrophs, respectively, there are fundamental differences in energy production. Plants use
endothermic reactions to generate chemical energy, where they absorb solar energy. On the other
hand, in animals and humans, the chemical energy stored from food is converted into energy to build
the body in a heat-generating manner.

Nutrients: Energy Supplier Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are called micronutrients. Most of the daily
energy demand is covered by them. There are more than 100 elements in the

Periodic Table, but organisms, especially humans, depend on four important elements: carbon,
hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. Carbohydrates are composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The

protein is composed of a chain of amino acids composed of carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen. The bonds
between elements and molecules dissolve, producing a significant amount of energy that benefits the
human body. The potential chemical energy conversion of nutrients also depends on how they are
consumed. Therefore, not all foods can be eaten raw and sometimes need to be cooked.

Cooking is also an energy transfer phenomenon, where the chemical energy of the fuel is converted
into heat, which later helps to break the chemical bonds of food molecules. When consumed, it can
convert nutrients for rapid energy production in bodybuilding. In addition to carbohydrates and
proteins, there are vitamins, fiber, acids and bases. Acids like citric acid, which are rich in vitamin C, are
very good for the human body. The chemical energy stored in citric acid helps strengthen the immune
system. Similarly, fruits and vegetables contain various types of micronutrients that are also used to
power the human body, such as potassium, sodium, phosphorus, and iron.

Number of chemical energies in food The chemical energy of various nutritional forms of food is
counted in calories. This is measured in the form of burning of food molecules. This is the chemical
energy stored in the bond when converted to thermal energy, which helps calculate the number of
calories. Foods high in carbohydrates tend to be high in calories, while fruits and vegetables tend to be
low in calories. For this reason, carbohydrate-based foods are commonly referred to as energy sources.
