 ASTRONOMY CENTRE - ARCHITECTURAL THESIS
Astronomy Centre is my Undergraduate Thesis project.
An Astronomy Centre, is a hub that provides hands-on learning
experiences using exhibits that are designed to increase learners’
skill and understanding of Space Science and technology, it
comprises of planetarium, Observatory and I-max theatre which
contributes as an educational and commercial aspects of the
Centre.

INTRODUCTION:
An Astronomy Centre, which is a hub that provides hands- on
learning experiences using exhibits that are designed to increase
learners’ skill and understanding of Space Science and technology.

TYPOLOGY:
The project typology is both commercial and educational, as the
design will include exhibition areas as well as a planetarium/
auditorium.

AIM OF THE PROJECT:

In order to have the competitive advantage in global market place,
India has to focus on ‘innovation and re- engineering’ the research
atmosphere in research labs, and foster innovation driven
education.
An Astronomy Centre will allow for citizens to approach the field in
a fun, engaging and interactive manner, and gets rid of the
‘boring’ or ‘unecessarily complex’ stereotype that many people
usually have with regards to Science.

OBJECTIVES:
• To design a science complex which will be an educational
landmark and another stepping stone to advancements in science
and astronomy in India.
• To portray the growth of science and technology in industry and
human welfare.
• To design exhibits showcasing the history, present and future of
the scientific realm.
• To encourage the excitement of discovery.
