regarding media. The paper will give enough evidence to support the information on this

particular research topic from various sources on previously researched this aspect derived from

different databases. The paper will describe previously done aspects that will assist in identifying

Introduction

Great thanks to Jim Morrison, who once said that whoever controls the media controls

the mind. The saying is so true because, since the development of the media, the human mind

has undergone a drift by shifting to the media in undertaking most of their daily activities. The

major contributor to this drift is because the human being is a social being, and it is only through

media that their interaction and socialization with people is enhanced. Since the establishment of

media, the majority of the individuals have embraced the change, and a significant number of

individuals are using it day and night. Media is defined as communication pathways through

which news, movies, music, education, and other forms of entertainment are distributed to other

individuals. Although many individuals are capitalizing on the media for many things, the

majority have not taken any chance to understand some aspects of the media, especially the

history of media and the major challenges and benefits that media is likely to bring to them in the

future. The media's history is significant to future developments, making it necessary for

researchers to investigate it and brace people with knowledge about it as they continue to use it

over time.

Kortti, J. (2017). Media history and the mediatization of everyday life. Media History, 23(1),

115-129.

The article primarily talks about the mediatization in the historical studies of media in

everyday life. The study was sparked because mediatization is a historical process that primarily

depends on its historical concept. The article further describes mediatization as part of the

metaprocess of globalization, commercialization, and individualization. According to

Korti(2017), mediatization is important in studying media history, especially when assessing the

role of media in everyday life history.

Theobald, J. (2017). The Media and the Making of History.

The article assesses the correlation between the media and the making of history. The

making of history primarily explains the media's impacts since its development. According to

the article, media has primarily taken a bigger part in European history whereby its discourse

distinguishes the 20th century from the past centuries. Theobald primarily focused on the first

world war in analyzing the abuse of journalistic discourse in availing of events to the public. The

article describes the roles of media in selecting key events in the past century, such as the failure

of communism and the cold war. All these aspects render this article important for this research.

Natale, S. (2016). There are no old media. Journal of Communication, 66(4), 585-603.

The article primarily focuses on the implications and meaning of old media, which

researchers have previously ignored. The definition of old media is difficult due to the changes

taking place in the media industry. Due to the failure to understand the true definition of media

due to change, most individuals need to treat media as a relational concept. The article is

essential for this research as it will enable the understanding of media in different phases of life

since its development.
