College Research Reflection

1. List the campuses you plan on applying to or have already applied to.
Highlight the three most important criteria you used in determining where
to apply.

I plan on applying to Los Angeles Pierce college. One of the ways you can apply
into Pierce College is completing an online admission form. Another would be
going to the Pierce college website and finding the Apply for Admission. The third
way is going to this website that the Los Angeles Pierce college provides and just
click on this website ctcLink Student Center.

2. Which campus is the one you would most like to attend? Explain why this
campus is your first choice compared to the others.

I would like to attend the Los Angeles Pierce college because this is the nearest
community college that has the programs I need to become a Vet Technician.
This campus is my first choice compared to the other campuses I researched
because this was the only one that offers the programs that I need to get my
associate degrees. Also, Pierce college website lets me see a lot of information
that will be needed. As well, when I enter the campus I won’t feel lost and I will
already know a little bit about the school. That is why I decided to choose this
campus.

3. What will be your intended education goal? How does this goal relate to
your chosen career? What resources do these campuses have to support
you in this career field?

My intended education goal is getting my Associates degree. This degree is

related to my decision to become a Vet technician. I need to graduate with an
associate degree if I want to work in the position of a vet tech. Advisor also
Counseling services, tutoring, library, peer to peer mentor program.

4. How do the costs of attendance compare at each campus? How do you

plan to cover the costs of attendance if you are accepted?

The Foothill College will approximately cost $5,500. The Los Angeles Pierce
College will approximately cost $3,312. The cost of both is an average based on

the number of units. Books and other fees are not included. The main way to pay
for my college fees will be with Financial Aid. Another is to apply for scholarships.
My last resort would be to work while going to college to try and pay for all my
fees.

5. Do you plan on transferring to a four year college? If so, which campuses

are you interested in transferring to?

No, I would not want to transfer to a 4 year college because I want a short
career. I would like to finish my studies to start working as soon as possible. So I
can earn money to pay for important things like taxes, gas money, etc. It’s also
very important to finish my career quickly to help support my family financially.
Transferring to a 4 year college is more expensive than a 2 year college.

6. Are there transfer agreements available? If so, which agreements do you

plan to use to successfully transfer? What are the requirements of these
agreements?

I did not plan to transfer to any colleges.

7. Which classes are transferable from the community college you plan to
attend to the campus you plan to transfer to? Are there classes that will not
transfer?

I did not plan to transfer to any colleges.
