1.The Prison Management System (PMS) was to enhance the administrative
capabilities of the jails in terms of monitoring and security of the prison while
improving the efficiency and productivity of the Prisons

i) Identify the Risks involved and solutions on the risk .

The main risk in development is that will the software work as expected and will it be
delivered in a time within the defined budget .If we reject the project it will affect our
market reputation. If this system doesn’t respond quickly then it will affect expected
market share.

RI-1: Loss of prisoners data because of improper records

RI-2: Inaccurate records of prisoners data

RI-3: Prisoners are placed in remand for a long time without trial because of loss
of data.

RI-4: Increased prisoner numbers challenged departmental resources.

RI-5: Many staff members have only a superficial knowledge of the principles
and science behind these online management system.

S-1: Make a database for prisoners for records.

S-2: For inaccuracy of records of prisoners data we will have to maintain

databases in softcopy as well as hardcopy.

S-3: We will have to add an option for the period of sentence given by the court.

S-4: We will have to limit the number of prisoners in a particular prison by

setting a limit.

s-5: We will have to teach the people involved in management of prison about
our system and how to use it efficiently and effectively.

i) Identify the process model and Construct the Gantt chart for the above
scenario using the online tool

Incremental model should be used because, making a prison mgmt system is a very
new task for us, and we would benifit from a lot of customer feedback and we can
change things with time, the project can improve as it is made
