Module Activity Week 4-5 Let's Check/ Let's Analyze

1. Why is it important to understand how perception works and how?

Generally, perception is important because it helps you to understand the

world around you. Sensation refers to the process of receiving information

through the senses, perception refers to the way your brain interprets these

sensations. In terms of marketing, perception is about how consumers interpret,

organize, and identify information to decide whether they should buy the product

or acquire the service. Moreover, consumers will only recognize what they really

need and what they really want. This is an example of how perception works, I

saw a Television ad about fashion and I also want to buy a shirt so my mind is

ready to receive only those stimuli which will give me some information related

to shirts.

2. Explain how exposure, perception and attention work and affect a buyer’s

behavior.

Exposure occurred when stimulus stimulates the senses of a person-sight,

sound, smell, taste, and touch. As I said in question one, perception is about

how consumers interpret, organize, and identify information to decide whether

they should buy the product or acquire the service. Meanwhile, attention is

defined as how consumers concentrating and keeping one's mind focused on a

stimulus. Let’s take my example in the first question on how exposure,

perception, and attention work, seeing a television ad is an example of exposure

since I am exposed to the certain product. My perception is good about the

product because it gets my attention since I am also planning to buy shirt.

EFFECTIVE ADS

The two ads above is the effective ads for me because it generates exposure,

attention, and perception. While seeing the two ads, I can say that I am expose because

I can see it. Also, it gets my attention because I am into K-pop and Liza Soberano and I
am interested to beauty products and skin care. Lastly, my perception for this is positive

cause the information given by the ads is appropriate for me and it so informative.

INNEFECTIVE ADS

In my perspective, the two ads above are ineffective ads because I am expose to the

product however, I am not into it and it didn’t get my attention. The first ad is talks about

straightening the hair by using Pantene, but I already have a natural straight hair. For

the second ad, it somehow gets my attention because I am a fan of Hidilyn but I’m not

interested in having a Golden skin because I already have a golden skin. For me, to
improve their ads, they should know who always use internet which is millennials and

Gen Z and most of them are into new product. They don’t buy product that they natural

have it like straight hair or golden skin. Also, they should concise, highlighted and use

easy to read words so that the readers will read them since most people don’t really

reading long articles.
