Tech PowerPoint Items The Christmas Selfie Contest,

● Start the lesson by telling them that this week we are going to start
working on our own personal stories.
● To help you think about what a great story sounds like and what
elements it needs to be considered a great story over an average
5 minutes story.
● Have them come up with some ideas of what a great story would
have.
○ write this on chart paper so you can add to it later and have
it for reference.

● Bring up the PowerPoint and show them what you thought was
important in the story.
○ Have the students tell you what they think is important and
what they thought the plot was, the setting, the characters
were in the story.
○ Pull up the slide to see if they got it right and ask them how
they knew and show them how you figured that out.
15 minutes ○ While going through the slide ask them can there be
multiple main characters? Yes.
○ Can there be multiple different settings? Yes.
● At the end of the PowerPoint talk about how all these elements are
needed to make a great story.
○ Some stories will have 3 or four of these elements and that
is okay but if a story has all 5 of these elements and has a
lot of good detail then the story becomes a great story.
