THE WORLD’S END SCENE

GUY #1:
You have a very selective memory, GARRY.

GARRY:
Thanks.

GUY #1:
You remember the Friday nights, I remember the
Monday morning.

GARRY:
Yeah, that’s why we’re going back on a Friday.

GUY #1:
(Sigh) Why do you think there’s none of us living
in Newton Haven anymore?

GARRY:
I dunno.

GUY #1:
Because it is a blackhole. It’s boring. It always
was and it always will be.

GARRY:
It’s only Boring cuz we’re not there.

GUY #1:
It’s pointless arguing with you.

GARRY:
Exactly. So come. I’m picking everybody up from
the station Friday, three o’clock, sharp.

GUY #1:
No way I’m going.

GARRY:
(Sigh) Why? You gotta chat with ya misses?

GUY #1:
No actually, I don’t have to chat with my misses.
GARRY:
What’re you doin?

GUY #1:
I’m showing you the door.

GARRY:
Is it a door? I mean it doesn’t have a lintel,
and it’s glass. So is it a window, or is it a
door? Maybe it’s a windoor. (laugh) You can have
that.

GUY #1:
Please leave, Garry.

GARRY:
(Sigh) 600 in there...Oh, um, I thought you
should know...mum died.

GUY #1:
When?

GARRY:
‘Couple weeks ago...The big cancer.

GUY #1:
(Sigh) I’m sorry.

GARRY:
She used to always really like you, ya know. It
got me thinkin’ about the old days. Especially
that night, ya know cuz we were so happy. And ya
know, I love the boys like brothers but when
all's said and done, you’re the best friend I’ve
ever had....Good seeing’ you again, mate.
