The activity will be given asynchronously after the MIDTERMS


WEEK. The students will share their mind maps in the class as
part of the preliminary activity.

Description: This preliminary activity serves as a precursor


to gain the students’ interest in the topic to be discussed.
A. Direction:
1. Make a MIND MAP of the word stress.
2. You may also include words (in Filipino or English) that is
related positively or negatively to stress.
3. Include things that cause you stress and things that help
you ease your stress.

Discuss: What words do you associate with stress? What


things or activities cause stress? Which things or activities
help you manage your stress?
TASK: GROUP DISCUSSION

Description: In this section, students are expected


to complete a task that will give them an insight on
the topic and point of discussion.

Tan
Guide questions:
1. According to Michael Tan, there’s no direct
translation of the word stress in Filipino. Do you
agree with this? What Filipino words do you think
can be associated with the word stress?
2. What are the stress factors mentioned in the
article? Which of these applies to you?
3. Do you agree with the assumption that Filipinos
are not prone to admit stress in general? Why do
you think so?
SYNTHESIS

Direction: After viewing the video and participating in the


discussions, use the Venn diagram to identify the coping strategies
that was mentioned in the reading, and list down your personal
stress coping mechanism. Find the shared characteristics of these
coping strategies and list it down in the overlapping space in
between the diagram.

Self-care should be practiced proactively. In order to be able to practice better


self-care, create a self care plan that you can effectively follow to engage in physically,
mentally, emotionally, socially nourishing activities. You can brainstorm and have a
think-pair-share with a partner. However, the self-care plan you will create must be
tailor-fit to what may work best for you.
