WHAT IS EARLY CHILDHOOD?

Early childhood comprises a number of life stages,


marked by developmental milestones

Explanation: It means that Early childhood consist of these life


stages. So what are these stages? These are the 12 stages of life
including: prebirth, birth, early childhood, middle childhood,
late childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, midlife, mature
adulthood, late adulthood, and death & dying. Marked by
developmental milestone.

HOW KIDS GROW
Infant : birth to 1 year old
Toddler: 1 year old to 2 years old
Preschooler: 3 -5 years old

Explanation: Children grow and develop rapidly in their first


five years across the four main areas of development. mobility
increases by the end of this stage they walk, run and jump,
recognizes themselves in mirror pictures, mimics and others

WHO ARE THE PRESCHOOLER

A child of 3 or 4 is considered a preschooler. So


whether or not your child is attending a formal
preschool program, he is no longer a toddler.

Explanation: So it means that preschooler are those children


who ages 3 or 4 year school eventhough they don’t go to school
as that early age.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TOODLER


AND A PRESCHOOLER

Preschoolers are different from toddlers in that they are


developing the basic life skills, independence, and knowledge
that they will need as they enter their school years.
Explanation: What are these basic life skills. These are the
 Communication and interpersonal skills. ...
 Decision-making and problem-solving. AND MANY MORE. Life skills are
abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable humans to deal
effectively with the demands and challenges of life

What is Development Milestones

Developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age.

Explanation: Preschoolers express feelings like joy, excitement, anger or fear.


Your child might like messy play in sand or mud, pretend play with puppets,
and outdoor play with plenty of running, tumbling and rolling.

PRESCHOOLER DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONE

 Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak,


behave, and move (like crawling, walking, or jumping)
 They will become more independent and begin to focus more on
adults and children outside of the family.
 They will want to explore and ask about the things around them
even more.
Their interactions with family and those around them will help to
shape their personality and their own ways of thinking and moving

During this stage, children should be able to ride a


tricycle, use safety scissors, notice a difference
between girls and boys, help to dress and undress
themselves, play with other children, recall part of a
story, and sing a song

EXPLANATION: so these things are what the preschooler do in their age. They
develop they by day and learn to do things in their own phase

Food – Good nutrition

EXPLANATION: FOOD and Good nutrition gives THE PRESCHOOLERS


bodies everything it needs in the right amounts; it keeps us healthy. It means that
we have everything we need to function at our best. This reduces our risk of illness
and injury because our body has the right nutrients to repair, restore, and protect.

Sleep

EXPLANATION: Sleep is important. Like exercise and diet, getting a good night
sleep is important to the child’s mental, physical, cognitive, and emotional well-
being. Good sleep can help you remember, make better judgments, think clearly,
prevent you from getting sick, prevent weight gain, promote a healthier heart, and
help you live a longer healthier life.

EXPLANATION: Social emotional development represents a specific domain of
child development. It is a gradual, integrative process through which children
acquire the capacity to understand, experience, express, and manage emotions and
to develop meaningful relationships with others.

Physical development is the process that starts in human infancy and continues
into late adolescent concentrating on gross and fine motor skills as well as puberty.
Physical development involves developing control over the body, particularly
muscles and physical coordination.

Cognitive development means how children think, explore and figure things out.
It is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions,
which help children to think about and understand the world around them. Brain
development is part of cognitive development. As a parent, it is important to foster
your child's cognitive
