 RC Pile (Square/ Spun Piles) All material shall be loaded and

unloaded with care by mobile crane or other type of suitable
machinery to avoid pile damaged. Materials shall be placed where the
materials are not obstructing the main road access in order to prevent
material double handlings.
 All material shall be stacked on top of the piece of timber with proper
timber shim to prevent material damaged or easy material lifting.

7.0 WORK METHODOLOGY

7.1 Survey Setting Out (Pile Position)
 Surveyor shall pegs the pile position according to Approved
Construction Drawing.
 Liaise with Consultant or Client representative to conduct joint
inspection (subject to project requirements).
 QUICK CHECK: During setting out, check the following:-
 Random inspection shall be carried out to confirm pile
pegs position correct as per specified in the Approved
Construction Drawings.

7.2 Pile Driving and Pile Jointing

 Piles shall be driven by using hydraulic hammer type by follow the
Calculation of Setting for Pile Injection – Please attached the calculation
with this submission.
 Positioning Pile Machine: Piling base machine shall be placed
manoeuvre to align with the piling points.
 Placement of the Pile: the initial pile segment is pitched using a low
speed hydraulic winch and then the pile is placed into the guide or
chamber of the piling machine.
 Pile Jacked Hydraulically into the Ground: When the pile ready to
start, pile jacked in to the ground hydraulically.
 The pile injection should be maintained straight in line at all the times.
In common soil condition, every single stroke will able to jack in
penetration of 6 metres.
 Extension Pile (Mild Steel Sleeve): When the initial pile segment
jacked in reached close to ground, operator shall stop jacked in and
re-opened chamber door to place the second piles into the chamber.
 Pile shall be jointed by using mild steel pile sleeve; where the sleeve is
placed on to the top end of the installed pile. An extension pile is lifted
up and placed into the chamber, which is then properly aligned in a
vertical axis with the installed pile.
 The piston rod will jacked the two piles into the sleeve until both ends
meet at the centre plate.
 Continue Pile Jacking Process until Set: Resume jacked in after
checking the pile joint completed and satisfactory done.
 Pile jacking process repeated until the required resistance to pile
penetration is achieved, or the required pre-determined penetration
depth is reached. The setting load registered through the pressure
gauge mounted on the control panel.
 The jack-in pile is said to have achieved the 'set' when it has visually
ceased to penetrate further under the required jacking load and
maintaining period.
 AQUICK CHECK: During pile driving (hydraulic hammer), check the following:-
 Check the pile position always in the correct alignment
 Check the pile joints satisfactorily done
 Check and monitor gauge mounted on the control panel
and stop when it achieved “set” and reached to the hard
strata

7.3 Piling Records

 All the pile reading shall be recorded in the “Pile Record Form”.
 All pile records shall be checked correct and signed by relevant C&S
consultant or Client representative.
 a QUICK CHECK: During pile driving (Hydraulic Hammer Method) in the
process, check the following:-
 Check and ensure all the data shall be recorded in “Pile
Record Form” for every blow.

7.4 Pile Cutting

 Excess piles length shall be cut according to the piling Cut-Off-Level.
 Suitable type of pile cutter machine shall be used to ensure pile not
damaged during pile cutting process.
 All the excess piles shall be collected and removed away from site.
 A
QUICK CHECK: During excess pile cutting, check the following:-
 Check pile Cut-Off-Level is correct before allow for pile
cutting or hacking.
 Check suitable type of pile cutter machine shall be used
to cut the piles. No damages to the cut piles.

7.5 As-built (Actual Piles Position) Prepared by Surveyor

 Actual piles position shall be recorded by surveyor in the survey book.
 From the actual data taken at site, surveyor will plot the Pile As-built
Drawing for C&S Design Consultant review.
 If any piles out of construction tolerance, rectification shall be carried
out according to C&S Design Consultant instructions.
