Refer to the graph obtain in figure 1 ,2 ,3 and 4 as we can see the value of the driving force is
decrease when the angle of lap is increase like we can see at figure 1 the driving force at
maximum is 60.822N for T1 and 48.069N for T2 at 90 degree. While on figure 4 its show that
the maximum driving force is 31.392N for T1 and 18.639N for T2 at 180degree angle of lap. So
its show that when driving force is decrease with the angle of lap will increased.

For 90 degree,

0.1107
= 0.0705
1.5708
For 120 degree,

0.1413
= 0.0675
2.094

For 150 degree,

0.1794
= 0.0685
2.618

For 180 degree,

0.2231
= 0.0710
3.142

Conclusion, the calculation showed that the 180 degree have a highest coefficient while 120
degree have the lowest.

Question

Transmission Belt
Advantages Disadvantages
The process is smooth and quiet. They put a lot of strain on shafts and
bearings.

They are long-lasting and require minimal In comparison to other modes of power
maintenance. transmission, it has a short service life.

Belt drives are capable of absorbing shock There is a significant loss of power.
and dampening vibration

Have the ability to transmit power over a Speed range is limited.

long distance

Roller chain
Advantages Disadvantages

The performance is unaffected by It will making a lot of noise and can produce
temperature or environmental factors. a lot of vibrations

Have a very high efficiency It need tensioning device modifications for

slack

Both long and short distances can use. It need to be lubricated on a regular basis

Did not easy to slip Not suitable for shafts that are not parallel.
