Romulus and Remus: The First King

In criticizing a movie, text and literature audience plays a very huge role. In fact,
directors and writers make a movie or literature for the audience satisfaction. The
audience has the power to generate thoughts and opinions that an author or director
can use to improve his/her artwork. We as audience has different perspective in giving
thoughts about the movie or literature. It can be positive or negative and the author or
director has no control on that.

Romulus and Remus : The First King movie is all about the brothers namely
Remus and Romulus. The twin brother is the sons of the war name Mars. They are
thrown by their father because he is frightened that one day one of the brothers will take
the position of him as a king. After the twins are thrown, their life has been miserable
and fight their way to survive. In their journey they stop in one town to take a rest. A
fortune teller foretells that one of the twin must die in order to be a king . The twins
fought each other and one died. The other one will be the king of the strongest city
named Rome.

As I watch the movie, I don’t feel any excitement in my heart at first. Many of my
classmates feels the same. I like the genre of the movie but I can’t understand what the
characters are saying because of the language barrier. The movie has subtitle, but I
can’t clearly see it because the projection on the board is so blurry. Just because of that
I don’t watch it seriously and do many stuff that makes me alive in the room, like using
my phone and many stuff.

Once my teacher said that we are going to pass a critique paper to that movie my
heart beats fast because of nervousness. I try to understand the movie, even though the
movie was going to an end. Luckily, my teacher agreed to give us a copy of the movie. I
watched it seriously at home and find the movie awesome. I feel awesome because it is
the kind of genre I really love to watch in foreign movies. The movie was well detailed.
The actors did their best for me to become interested in the story. Special effects are
awesome and didn’t find any funny failures about that. The plot twists are amazing
because it breaks my prediction about what will happen in the movie. I was truly
amazed by the movie and the best thing is, I can get some lessons about it.

This movie will show one of the seven deadly sins which is greed. This will give a
lesson to the viewers that even you’re close to your siblings or friends, they can betray
you for their own happiness or dreams. The movie also said that trust yourself more
than you trust any other people. This lesson is very applicable nowadays, so I really
love this movie.
