 B. Purpose and objectives of the project.
Faced with common difficulties in the current city and country situation, our group of
students came up with ideas to solve and minimize the biggest obstacles in students'
education and learning life. DTU member.

Based on the development of ICT, we have maximally applied ICT to the management
and control of the environment and learning activities for students. This project will focus
mainly on smart education, reducing health inequalities, smart transportation and a
healthier environment. Come up with new ideas to build a smart university.

The goal of the project is a global approach to make DTU and the City of Da Nang
inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable as outlined in goal 11 of the Sustainable
Development Goals of the United Nations. United Nations.

C. Ideas
Along with the development of society, the emergence of IoT and smart technologies has
made people's higher demands on quality of life. Therefore, all fields including education
must constantly change and improve to meet human needs. The application of smart
technologies, AI, ... in education is gradually becoming the trend of the world. To keep
up with innovation, building a smart campus is essential. The smart and modern
university model meets the advanced learning needs of students and the opportunity to
strengthen the university's capacity in the face of rapid changes in modern society. In
Vietnam, there are several universities that use smart technologies in the teaching
process. And certainly in the future, smart school campuses will grow in
popularity. Therefore, Duy Tan University needs to build a smart campus and a modern
education system to catch up and integrate with the trend.

Smart campus ideas include:

+ Smart classroom.

+ Smart library.

+ Smart medical zone.

+ Smart parking.

+ Smart stadium.

+ Smart dormitory.

+ Smart map.

4
+ Multi-function integrated area.

+ Intelligent storage and extraction system.

+ Air filter system.

The construction of a smart school campus and education system aims to optimize
activities and reduce labor load on the university campus.

1. Smart Library
With an increasingly developed and modern society, libraries in schools play a huge role
in forming an environment for fostering talents for society. This is the ideal place to go
after every class, where the source and satisfaction of information and knowledge needs
not only of students but also of lecturers or anyone in need. Understanding the problems
that are still inadequate, with the desire to bring the best space for users, we have
designed a smart library model to optimize the necessary needs to create a modern
academic environment.

a. Smart locker.

The smart lockers cater to the individual needs of users such as bags, unrelated
documents or prohibited items in the library such as candy, food and flavored drinks or
objects. unnecessary that they do not need to carry.

These lockers will operate on/off based on QR code scanning cameras or student card
slots with barcodes or chips instead of using keys and physical locks. The application of
technology to this cabinet system makes it easy to self-preserve personal belongings
while ensuring the privacy of users. No one else can open it without the owner's QR code
or student card, if someone approaches and intentionally sabotages to infiltrate, the sound
sensor will come into play. Alerts will be broadcast until the owner scans the code again
or the intruder leaves the locker.

b. Sound Sensor

Sound sensors are equipped in soundproof individual classrooms, it will work to warn
when the user does not meet the essential criteria. At the same time, when the user makes
excessive noise, the sensor will notify the led light before the sound function is activated.

c. Automated security equipment

When someone enters or exits the library, the device is activated to recognize the object
and track progress while participating. The scanning eyes work flexibly from the time
you check-in to the time you check-out, and your activities such as picking up books,
booking self-study rooms, returning books are recorded by the system.

5
For fraudulent acts, the system will automatically scan and notify the operating
department to check, when there is a suspicion that the anti-theft device will start
working, which helps items or books to be stolen. quantity and quality can be guaranteed,
there are no cases of theft or damage due to user influences.

d. Automatic book management machine

Users will be automatically updated the list by the management system when registering
to participate, then activities such as payment, book search, book loan/return registration,
information lookup will be system records, but before performing those operations, the
user must use the QR code or student card to check whether the right object is correct,
and then accept the next steps.

Smart bookshelves use robots to organize books as well as flexibly find and retrieve
books when required. This helps users both save time as well as space to store books
more optimized. Besides, cleaning robots are also applied to this system to clean books
and bookcases.

The smart touch screen is an effective assistant for both management and use. The
documents are digitized, so the search becomes easier, the necessary information is
displayed on them, users can search for any related documents through
keywords. Besides, it also has the task of promoting and introducing interesting
information to users when they first come to the library.

2. Smart classroom
a. Internet

For an intelligent integrated system, the Internet is a necessary factor to be placed first. In
order to help teachers and students use it effectively, it is necessary to install an internal
Wi-Fi network. The era of technology development brings a lot of benefits, but it also has
a negative side. As the use of the Internet to use programs unrelated to study makes
people not focus on the right purpose, the rate of working separately increases. Seeing
that downside, our smart classroom system will be installed on an internal network and
used only to access software and applications related to the allowed curriculum and
learning.

The installed smart camera helps the attendance process to be optimized by automatic
face ID check without losing time by traditional ways of calling names or taking
attendance through paper. This also helps to manage user access, and those who are not
on the list of each class cannot freely enter without the consent of the classroom manager.

Thanks to the Internet, devices are connected to each other to form a synchronous system
between smart devices in a classroom, making it easy for users to connect and control
them.
6
b. Smart podium

Touch screens are installed to replace writing boards and projectors, both saving space
and optimizing the teaching of lecturers or presenting problems of students. The content
is projected on the screen through a data connection through the server on the podium or
from personal devices via Bluetooth. Interactions are also made easier, users can control
the screen with touch or touch control devices, so that teaching and learning content is
presented visually and much more vivid, especially for subjects that need to be imagined
such as spatial geometry, multi-dimensionality is much simpler. Speaker and mic systems
are also integrated into the projection screen to help optimize teaching activities.

The podium is designed to be flexibly pulled out and pulled in with the control. When
making presentations as in the case of one person presenting to others, the podium is
pulled out, but when performing group activities, it can be retracted to increase the area
of the classroom. In addition, the control system for air conditioning, lights, ... is also
integrated with the control of the podium and speaker and mic systems.

c. Class Gate

Outside the classroom will be equipped with a small smart screen, displaying parameters
such as class code, subject, teacher in class and it will automatically change according to
the classroom timetable to suit. fit. The display board will also be integrated with a QR
code, student card attendance system or in the absence of the above two, you can choose
to replace it with fingerprint attendance.

d. Smart tables and chairs

The desk is integrated with a smart screen so that students can scan their QR code,
student card to select the list of textbooks and documents in the personal data store,
besides the screen can also choose the program. Slide show of the lecturer's lecture. The
desk is designed to be easily converted from an individual desk to a semi-quadrangular,
hexagonal, etc., suitable for discussion and group work situations.

The seat is designed according to optimal standards to help people sit comfortably and
prevent hunchback or wrong posture to ensure health. Noise canceling indicators are also
integrated so that they do not make any noise when moving.

the following shifts to wait, time consuming.

9. Intranet system (including intelligent data storage, artificial intelligence)
9.1. An overview of the intranet
The local area network is called a LAN. LAN is an acronym for Local Area
Network. This network system allows devices to be connected to each other to work and
share data.
That internal connection is done through a LAN cable or simply the familiar wireless Wi-
Fi network that we still use in a certain narrow range.
- All organizations; Any individual who wants to manage internal data or want to connect
must be through a LAN.
- Enterprises and schools applying optical fiber to use in the internal network is a very
necessary and advisable thing.
9.1.1 Intranet at smart school campus.
- The school's intranet system integrates multi-function, allowing access and transmission
of information within the school.
- Including Intelligent Data Storage System, Artificial Intelligence, Air Purification
System....
- Used for the whole school campus such as library, garage, classroom, medical room,
toilet... etc.
9.2. Smart data storage
9.2.1 General
- Organizations collect data from multiple sources, and the ability to collect information
is increasing thanks to Internet of Things (IoT) devices and social media applications. All
that data must be stored in a way that is both secure and accessible.
- Smart data storage means storing data in a simpler and more convenient way while
ensuring safety factors.
9.2.2 Smart storage system at school campus.
- Storage system (server): Using SAN (Storage area network) storage system
- a dedicated network to connect many servers and different storage devices, with the
main purpose of data transmission between the computer system between the storage
elements together to link all the storage resources in the network together to form a large

14
storage system including information about lecturers, staff and students in the network.
school, the data on the results and learning process of students, the teaching process of
the lecturer to serve the management and supervision. SANs are completely separate and
are not the same as LANs or WANs. SAN networks can connect all kinds of storage-
related resources in the network together. All data and information about activities taking
place during the day at school will be aggregated, processed and stored into the system at
the end of the day. Large storage space, fast storage speed, easy data extraction but still
ensure internal information of the school.
9.3. Artificial intelligence
9.3.1 General
- Using artificial intelligence to replace humans in some jobs, activities such as cleaning,
reminding, guiding, serving, taking care, ......
- Educational activities such as grading or tutoring students can be automated thanks to
AI technology. Many games and educational software were born to meet the specific
needs of each student, helping students improve their learning at their own pace. Students
can study and look up anywhere thanks to AI technology
9.3.2 Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in schools
Using AGI has the ability of an AI agent to learn, perceive, understand, and act
completely like a human. These systems will be able to independently build multiple
capacities and form connections and generalizations across domains, cutting down on the
time required for training. This will make AI systems human-like by recreating our
multifunctional capabilities.
- Using AGI:

 to control attendance on behalf of the lecturer, send information about absent

students to the system for easy management and send reminders to absent students.
 Perform some basic health checks at the medical room.
 Manage the lending, return of books, noise control and activities at the library.
 Control sanitation problems at schools.
 Remind students about tests and assignments.
 Grade the work and give evaluation and review on behalf of the lecturer.
 Make subject recommendations to students based on information in the learning
process.
 Answering students' questions and concerns about learning and searching issues.

9.4. Air filtration system

9.4.1 General
- School is a large campus, there are many people. Classrooms and function rooms are
built in a closed form, so the use of an air filtration system is necessary. The air filter
system is used to filter fine dust, fabric hair, and treat bacteria, mold and odors in the air
to ensure that the air is always cool and fresh.

15
- Air purifiers work based on the mechanism of sucking polluted air in through the
membrane system, where the pollutants in the air are retained and locked at the filter
system. Then, clean air is released in the direction of the air outlet.
9.4.2 Air filtration system at school
- Equipped with air purification system for the entire campus, classrooms, medical
rooms, libraries and function rooms.
- Build a large server system to filter bacteria, deodorize, create humidity to ensure fresh
air.
- Air ducts will be installed above the ceiling. The air intake window will suck air into the
filter and treatment system. Clean air is brought into the space by air-drop windows,
ensuring continuous air circulation, eliminating allergens, bacteria that cause mold, colds,
flu and respiratory diseases.
- In addition, the air purification system is equipped with a humidifier to keep the air
from getting too dry due to using air conditioning.

10. Environmental factors:

Developing an intelligent system needs to follow the direction of sustainable
development. So environmental factors are also one of the things we pay great
attention to. That is:

 Greening the space not only creates a green, clean and beautiful environment, but
also creates spaces for students to relax or do group activities.

 Place bin systems in different locations, with bins divided into colors to indicate
organic, plastic, paper, and other waste. Full indicator lights are also installed
to easily detect which drawers are full for quick replacement. The waste can be
recycled into raw materials and materials for research in laboratories or recycled
into products that are applicable in schools.
 Using billboards using Dooh technology emitting colored light helps to develop
instead of normal billboards when operating, it will generate heat and CO2 which is
harmful to the environment.
 For planes with large cross-sections exposed to sunlight such as eaves and roofs, it
is possible to install a solar battery system so that there can be a natural source of
energy for the systems. use existing electricity.
 Replace devices that use single-use batteries with built-in renewable energy or
rechargeable batteries. Organize the collection of damaged batteries to avoid
throwing the batteries in the trash and into the environment when they have not
been handled, then take them to the points of collection and treatment of the
batteries.
 The school encourages students to limit the use of single-use plastic items or
plastic bags with natural containers such as bamboo wicker baskets, paper bags,

16
papyrus bags that can be reused many times, … Besides, building a system of
drinking water purifiers and making rules for using personal water bottles to get
drinking water instead of using bottled water or single-use cups and glasses.
 Using safe biological hygiene products instead of hand sanitizers, soaps or
cleaning solutions, chemical scrubs can be more environmentally friendly while
also avoiding chemical waste. impact on water resources and the surrounding
natural environment.
 Besides, it also organizes sharing and training sessions on the effects of daily
activities on the environment to raise awareness and stimulate the creation of
practical activities to contribute to the improvement and protection of the
environment. environment.

D. The ability to realize the project
In today's rapidly developing technology context, along with the population
explosion. Everyone has higher requirements on activities namely educational
activities. In general, smart education is understood as "comprehensive integration of
technology, the ability to access and connect everything via the Internet anytime and
anywhere", which needs to be implemented synchronously and comprehensively in all
aspects. based on information technology application platform, including smart
classroom, smart environment, smart teacher, smart campus, smart school. Building
smart schools is no longer a trend in the 4.0 industry, but an inevitable trend that is
happening every day and every hour and will certainly be completed soon. So, the
feasibility of building Duy Tan University into a long-term and sustainable connected
smart campus is reflected in the following aspects:

 Economic: Currently, smart technologies and systems are quite popular in the

world. To build a complete education system and smart campus will cost a lot of
money. However, with the current financial capacity of Duy Tan University and
investment capital from outside, the construction of a smart campus is very feasible
and may be deployed in the future.
 Organization: The current organizational structure of personnel and lecturers at
Duy Tan University has basically met the requirements for proficiency in using
intelligent systems and applications.
 Plan: The first step is to train the lecturers and staff at Duy Tan University to be
able to use and operate the systems and applications fluently. Next, it is necessary to
build physical facilities and hardware systems that meet the basic conditions for the
application of intelligent applications and software. Finally, perfecting the system,
applying intelligent applications and software to the campus and teaching and
operating systems.

17
 To complete a project like this takes a lot of cost and time to build. However, this is a
highly feasible project in the future because the age of technology is gradually
overwhelming modern life, and this change is necessary and urgent.

Difficulty of the project: Because the smart school campus model is not yet popular in
Vietnam, although there are some universities that apply smart technology to
education. However, these systems are not yet fully formed. Therefore, in Vietnam, there
are no standards as well as model models for the smart school campus system, these will
be the difficulties that Duy Tan University faces in its plan to build a smart campus...

E. Solutions

 The solutions proposed to solve the problems encountered when building a smart
