I want to talk about the impact of the novel coronavirus in our country.

As we all know, the deadly Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an infectious disease caused by the
SARS-CoV-2 virus, has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide. The first known
infections from the highly contagious Covid-19 were discovered in Wuhan, China. According to
Worldometer's report, the casualties due to the coronavirus have crossed more than 53 lakhs
worldwide, and in India alone, the toll has reached 5 lakhs. More than 3 crore people have
contracted the virus all around the nation. Apart from creating a stir in people's health, it has
affected society in many ways.

Our country is one of the worse affected nations, and almost every sector has seen a considerable
downfall due to the covid outbreak. In particular, the economic and social disruption caused by
the pandemic is devastating. Even the agriculture and education sector also had a huge
setback. According to reports of TOI, around 84 million people are living in extreme poverty
as of May 2021, and an additional 100 million will be driven below the line by the end of the
year. Nearly half of the nation's working force is at risk of losing their livelihoods. Informal
economy workers are particularly vulnerable because the majority lack social protection and
access to quality health. Without the means to earn an income during lockdowns, many
cannot feed themselves and their families.
The pandemic has been affecting the entire food system. Border closures, trade restrictions,
and confinement measures have prevented farmers from accessing markets, including
buying inputs and selling their produce and agricultural workers from harvesting crops, thus
disrupting domestic and international food supply chains.
The contribution of the Aviation Sector and Tourism to our GDP is enormous. According to
reports, the Tourism sector served approximately 43 million people in FY 18-19. It is one of
the first industries hit significantly by the pandemic.  According to IATO estimates, these
industries may incur losses of about 85 billion Rupees due to travel restrictions and
additional layoffs of about 70% of the workforce.
Despite this, the digital sector got the pandemic as a boom for itself. People have begun to
use digital media for work commitments, schooling, and entertainment during the
pandemic. The use of online forums for business meetings has exploded in popularity.
Meeting and video calling applications have developed revolutionary features that make
working from home possible for professionals.
These were some significant impacts of the infamous covid era. There's a famous saying,
'When someone challenges you, fight back, be brutal, be tough.' It's high time to see the virus
destroying our livelihood. We should now stand united and help in the speedy recovery of
the nation. We are all aware of what we should do to limit the spread of the
disease, all thanks to the government's advertisements and campaigns.
One thing we should
