The Effectiveness of using distance learning among secondary schools

1. Introduction:

Since 1930, the medium of communication were only radio, and it was used to
bring simultaneously courses for the students of schools level, and it was also the
medium for the help of the teachers for their learning progressiveness. This method
was famously knows as Deweyan method of teaching (According to Bianchi,
2002). This method if we look at the scenario so, this was the first trial of distance
learning at home, which might be called as the first model method of earliest
professional schools. Since then it was when technology became popular among
young generation students, then the use of internet and other media network were
became famous for distance learning for the young and modern learners. This was
come to the notice after conducted a survey called as K-12 which was conducted
from 1999 till 2004 ,that how faster students learn from the distance learning
education through all these medias platform like internet, TV , web portals and
websites as compared to learning sitting inside taking classroom physically. The
community of the K-12 actually have seen growing faster exclusively over the last
few decades in this kind of learning in distance learning methodology. Actually
distance education or learning is defined as the education which has been thought
or seek while all the students and instructors are basically separated sitting by
space or even time. As we have already discussed earlier that distance education is
learned since 1930, but the online learning education through medium of internet is
just a new phenomenon for the learning experience. Those who are in proposal or
wanting of secondary schools reforms, school s by choice or even calling for
instructional preparation has this best choice to do or to experience this new
phenomena of virtual online schools because it suites ideally for the needs they
wants to have in 21st century.

1.1 Problem statement:

On the basis of the above analysis, the problem statement in the study of this
research is:

1. What kind of distance learning technique should be adopt?

2. What kinds of benefits should be achieved by the students from the distance
learning?
1.2 Research question:
1. What kind of distance learning approach is necessary?
2. What are the maximum benefit students can earn from the distance learning
education?

1.3 Research objectives:

The objectives are the main important things in the research study to know
the real meaning of the research study. The objectives of this study are:
1. To analyze the importance of distance learning.
2. To analyze the ways which facilitate and enhance distance learning
fruitful.

1.4 Significance of the study:

1. To give information to the researcher/readers who are need to know
about the literature in general and specifically about the distance
learning.
2. To encourage people to know the different techniques of distance
education learning.
3. To be used for the researcher in future who are in need of the literature to
learn.

3. Literature review:

As technological advancements and its greater positive impacts on the students

learning problems in education has greatly increased by increasing in the distance
learning through online sources, and which has greatly affect the need of the
students in the present hour. Most of the students who participated in K-12 survey
were mostly instructed in the distance learning education because of the advantage
of distance learning over classroom based learning. Those students who
participated in such courses means that in distance learning education were greatly
improved in decision making, critical thinking, independent learning, thinking as
creative and in solving of problems using this learning by computer based
(According to Barker & Wendel , 2001) . Students learn by instructions the
solution of mathematics and reading of multiple subject's by Yasin & Luberisse,
1998).

While when there are a lot of positive points from the distance education there are
some disadvantage of the online education as well as in some cases there has been
seen a misconception about a certain topic because of the language of the instructor
in online classes, and also online classes makes actually students an isolated body.
According to Bond (2002) found that there is negative impact on the student in
music class while studying from online sources.

3.1 rationale of the study:

Although studies has been conducted on different distance learning techniques but
somehow I feel and I have come to know while collecting data for this research
that no recent or sufficient studies has been conducted on the analysis of the
distance learning education. Which shows the gap of the study which definitely has
the need for the future studies. This research will try to resolve the gap between the
studies conducted on the different distance learning techniques, and will definitely
help the researcher in future.

4. Methodology:
In every study or the critical analysis research, there is always a need of research
methodology in order to fully understand all of the data and finally transmute it
into a comprehensive study. In this study method of the study of the writer to
analyze the distance learning will be descriptive and qualitative method. To know
about the qualitative method which is according to Kennedy, XJ and Gioia, Dana
(2005) qualitative research is a research that purposes to realizes the phenomena
that is practiced by the subject of the study through perception, behavior, action or
motivation holistically by the way of depiction through words and language in
precise framework that is natural by employing a diversity of natural technique.
The writer will go through the essential phases for attaining the most operative
study consequences and these phases including research design, data sources, data
collection and data analysis.
