Act 2 Shot list

After fade to black:

• MS jarring cut to phone alarm going off, alarm is titled ‘first day of college’
• MS top down view of protagonist’s upper half, his eyes are already open (shows he was already awake,
nervous about the day to come). After a few seconds, he gets up and moves to the side of the bed to pick
up phone
• MS phone alarm stopped and picked up
• MS of protagonist lifting up and throwing the duvet off, like the day in 60 seconds project (in cam
transition)
• EWS of the college entrance with protagonist in frame
• Cut back to CU, protagonist takes a breath/adjusts scarf, and steps forward towards college entrance
• MS long take: camera dolly forward down into corridor. One person also comes in from a side and starts
walking down. Protagonist comes in from the opposite side. Camera follows them both down the
corridor.
• CU tracking shot of face as walking down the corridor eyes turn left as laughter is heard in a room he is
passing
• POV shot of the room with people inside laughing and chatting as walking past
• Cut back to CU as his eyes go back to normal position. He looks envious.
• Long shot, camera next to door just outside the classroom, other person goes in to classroom now out of
frame. Door is out of frame at the start but pans right when the protagonist goes in. Protagonist is trailing
behind them, stop for a second look up at the top of the door to check they’re on the right classroom,
then go in.
• WS on the other side of the door and on the opposite angle. Protagonist steps in slightly stops and looks
around the classroom
• Dolly zoom of the protagonist’s anxious face
• MS of the table of friends.
• Over the shoulder tracking shot from behind the protagonist as he slowly cautiously walks into the
classroom. He walks towards a table to the side and sits alone.
• MS of the empty table from the right side (other full table out of frame) with the protagonist coming
down into frame and sitting down. At the end of the shot he begins to look towards the other table (at the
camera).
• POV shot looking left at the other table as the other people go out of focus and the audio becomes
muffled. Protagonist is blocking them out.
• Cut Back to MS of the protagonist looking back. He puts his hands around his head, blocking them out.
Fade to black.
