Post Description:

The incumbent provides support to CIS deployable assets.

Principle Duties:

 Provides remote assistance or on-site support to all workstations and servers assigned to
deployable assets (IMPAC, ILK, MiniPoP) during the mission preparation phase or when they
are deployed.
 Responsible for configuration, maintenance and security best practices regarding workstations
and servers from Linguistics, TJOC, Business Net and other non-outsourced systems.
 Supports the applications and data integrity, supports IT Service Continuity Management
(lTSCM), Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
 Identifies capacity issues, potential deficiencies and areas that could be improved and raises
RFCs.
 Responsible for the operation, maintenance and availability of the physical and virtual servers
and SAN infrastructure for the non-outsourced systems.
 Contributes to the disaster recover procedures for all IT Infrastructure matters including
backup and restoration procedures in order to meet the high-availability requirements.
 Ensures relevant tools and databases are used in order to meet configuration control
standards.
 Performs basic computer installation and troubleshooting activities.
 Installs, operates and maintains assigned Core systems software, databases and other
applications and ICT Platforms and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas.
 Conducts routine systems administration duties, ticketing systems, server operating systems,
Active Directory, ePo, GPO, WSUS, Exchange, VMware, SAN, NAS SOL, removable storage
security, file and block level backups, SharePoint, SCCM, SCOM, etc.
 Responsible for creating/maintaining documentation regarding rack diagrams, available
equipment.
 Responsible for creating/maintaining SOIs with best practices for assigned systems.
 Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of UPS devices in his area of
responsibility.
 Accountable for NATO RS equipment within his/her area of responsibility.

Additional Duties:

 The incumbent may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the
organisation as directed at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.
 The incumbent may be required to deploy on operational tasks, or to undertake TDY assignments
elsewhere.
 The work is normally performed in a typical office/secure facility environment. Slightly undesirable
conditions apply. The risk of injury is categorised as: No risk. Risk might increase when deployed.

Essential Qualifications:

Professional/Experience

 Proven experience With MS Server 2008, 2012, Active Directory, MS Exchange 2007 and
2010 WSUS, ePO, SQL Server, Symantec Backup Exec, 11S, SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint
services.

 A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Systems Administrator in a complex environment.


 Must be familiar with a wide range of tools and scripting languages such as PowerShelI, VB.
 Experience configuring Storage Area Networks.
 Experience with in an ITIL environment.

Education/Training

 Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training leading to a formal
technical or professional certification with 4 years function related experience.
 Vendor-approved, auditable training in VMware vSphere.
 MCSA Enterprise or Server Administrator and formal training in several of the following: LPIC,
MS Exchange 2010, ePO, SQL Server, Symantec Backup Exec, WSUS, IIS, PointSec
Protector, SharePoint Services, SCCM, SGOM.

Language

English - SLP 3322 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)


NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted
mainly in English.

Desirable Qualifications

Professional/Experience

 Experience in a NATO CIS environment


 Experience with implementing NCIRC hardening guides.
 Extensive Storage Area Network experience (NetApp).
 Experience with UNIX/LINUX operating systems,

Education/Training

 VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DV).


 Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
 ITIL Foundation.

levels.

action within the organisation.

Benefit Package:

 Monthly salary of € 6,004.00 (Tax free in the host country).


 Daily Allowance of € 87.69 while working in Afghanistan.
 Installation allowance of ½ initial monthly basic salary.
 Start and End of Contract paid transportation from residence to theatre and return.
 Two days of annual leave per month.
 7 days "Leave from Theatre" plus reimbursement of travel expenses up to 1,250 Euro for every
6 months spent in Theatre.

 Medical Insurance from Cigna (including death and disability coverage), small fee charged
plus 50% of monthly premium covered by RS HQ.
 Free accommodation in the camp.

 Laundry is at a nominal charge through the contracted laundry company.
 Clothing Allowance of 400 Euro per year.
 Medical and Immunization package prior to deployment.
