INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT (10%)
Students are required to write an essay on the theme “The importance of
Public Participation in Government Decision Making”. Your essay should consist of the following;
1. Identify the issue discussed and the implementation of public
participation in any country
2. Provide TWO (2) ideas relating to public participation that are
applicable/doable to be practiced in Malaysia in order to improve the government's decision-making process.
Instructions:
1. This is an individual assignment, written in English or Bahasa
Melayu.
2. References: APA style (All references must be latest – within five
years and minimum FIVE (5) references). Appropriate sources include: (a) articles from journals; (b) books; (d) research reports and any relevant materials. Cite your source according to APA formats.
3. The writing should be in Microsoft Word document; Times New
Roman font, size 12 points, and double-spacing.
4. Length: within 1000-2000 words, including references.
5. Plagiarism rule will be applied in this assignment. Submission via Turnitin platform (UUM Online Learning) – not more than 20% similarity index. QUIZ 1 - Online (10%)

GROUP ASSIGNMENT (30%)
Identify ONE (1) issue relating on topic RULES AND REGULATIONS
(CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE) IN MALAYSIA. Your assignment should consist as following;
1. Explain the background of the chosen issue – develop the case
information. 2. Analyse the impact of the issue towards the society and country. 3. Suggest at least FOUR (4) solutions that might improve or reduce the unethical conduct based on the case discussed. 4. The issue must be real 🡪 the decision has been made by the authority. You may refer the issue in any public document (MACC website; National Audit Report; court cases and any relevant public document)
Guidelines for written assignment (20%)
1. Each group will consist of 4-5 students.
2. The case’s title will be proposed by the students and reviewed by
respective lecturer.
3. References: APA style (All references must be latest – within
eight years and minimum TEN (10) references.
4. Appropriate sources include: (a) articles from journals; (b)
books; (d) research reports and any relevant materials – public documents etc. Cite your source according to APA formats.
5. The writing should be in Microsoft Word document; Times New

6. Length: within 2000-4000 words, including references.
